The worlds best adventure-sandal (as I see it).

An old adventure-industry crusty, who I would characterize as predominantly dogmatic (don’t fret, I am plenty dogmatic myself— just keep reading for evidence), drew a line in the sand last summer and stood firmly in opposition of Guides wearing Chaco sandals.

I cannot quote the source verbatim, but the gist was something like: Guides wearing Chacos = hamburger feet. Obvious hyperbole, but if you read on you will see hyperbole is one of the few devices I keep in my argumentation tool kit (it’s parked next to sarcasm), so who am I to judge.

Keji Reservations Opening!

Parks Canada is opening up camping reservations in Kejimkujik! Log in tomorrow, February 11th at 8am AST.

The Canada Strong Pass will provide free entry and 25% off camping fees between June 19th and September 7th.

It's going to be a great summer in Keji!

We’re already missing this view.

Jake’s Landing will no longer be staffed. Overnight canoe rentals will be available until the end of the month, by advance reservation (24hrs) through our website.

Thank you to all of our wonderful guests and especially to our extraordinary team.

We’d also like to express our gratitude to the Nova Scotia DNR, volunteer firefighters and logging crews for the never ending work containing and controlling the wildfires this season.

Our friends at the Medway Community Forest Co-op are starting something really cool: They're launching the first-ever Hemlock Hustle Gravel Rally! 🚲

They've planned a day of cycling, connection, and celebration of the incredible forests of rural Annapolis County! This rally-style ride is designed for gravel enthusiasts of all levels with three lengths to choose from (47km, 67km, 97km).

After the ride, you should stick around- they have a late lunch some music planned.

Registration: $35 (Cycling NS members) / $55 (non-members, includes insurance). Fee covers snacks, post-ride grub & a Hemlock Hustle bike decal. Any proceeds support Medway Community Forest Co-op and their work in community-driven, ecological forestry.

UPDATE: Backcountry camping at Kejimkujik will reopen as of Saturday, September 27. 🗓️

A full fire ban remains in effect throughout all of Kejimkujik. ❌🔥

Be prepared: Extremely low water levels may affect paddle and portage routes. Always follow a safety plan when travelling in the backcountry. 📝

Someone has stolen our Boreal Esperanto Blue and White tandem kayak. Looks like the kayak in the photo below (minus the mountains). It has a decal on the bow that says Cape LaHave Adventures, but this could be peeled off.
