School zone safety is a top priority and we wanted to share this important update from the Ottawa Safety Council. This year, their crossing guards are wearing bright yellow instead of orange.

Stay alert, slow down, and help keep kids safe!

You’re used to seeing our guards in their signature orange, but this school year they’ll be sporting bright yellow instead! 💛

New colour, same friendly faces and same important job keeping students and families safe on their way to and from school.

So when you see yellow at the crosswalk next week, slow down, stay alert and be ready to stop! 🛑

Windsor Essex Student Transportation Services is hosting their annual First Ride event on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The First Ride program is an educational and awareness program designed to familiarize young children and their parents/guardians with school buses and school bus safety. It is designed for young children entering the school system in September.

Taking place at four locations, with six time slot, please register at https://buskids.ca/ by selecting the "JK FIRST RIDE REGISTRATION" icon to select the location and time that best suits your family. 🚌
