🚁 Heads Up on the Water: Coast Guard Training In Action!

If you are near Parry Sound, Midland, or Britt over the next two weeks, you might notice an increase in Canadian Coast Guard activity.

From April 24 to May 11, the CCG will be conducting search and rescue training for their Inshore Rescue Boat (IRB) crews. These crews are the first responders who keep us safe during the busy summer boating season.

What to expect:

🚤 Up to 10 Zodiac Fast Rescue Craft and helicopters in the area
🌙 Training will occur during both daytime and nighttime hours
📍 Activity spans from Midland in the south up to Britt in the north

Don't be alarmed-- this is a planned exercise to prepare crews for medical emergencies, disabled vessels, and person-overboard scenarios. There is no real emergency or danger to the public.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Wright's 75th anniversary at our first annual pig roast! It was a sold out success raising over $2,000 for the Britt Fire Department. We couldn't have done it without the help of many people:
Our hard-working Marina crew; Andy, Chase, David & Paul for the setup and clean up, the dock staff for husking corn, Kim Wright & Cathy Maloney for the coleslaw, potatoes, roast beef, not to mention their years of knowledge as well as cooking the corn and helping in so many other ways, Bud and Donna Lizmore for the pasta salad and the cupcakes, Britt Fire Department for taking care of the pig on the spit, the legion and Community center for donating the tables and chairs, Chase for running the washroom shuttle, & the Still River Band for providing the excellent entertainment. The biggest thank you though, goes to Tracey Chartrand for all her tireless work in the planning and ex*****on of the entire event. Wright's Marina is so fortunate & grateful to have such a dedicated ambassador.
