Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders, located in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, is a devoted wooden boat repair facility. We are dedicated to the preservation of boats using a variety of contemporary and traditional techniques. Classic and vintage power or sailboats are prime candidates for our traditional 30 tonne ways. With 120 feet of working dock space, our shop is ideal for both long and short-term projects.

Fortunately we had 30’ long Douglas Fir for the First layer. In total there will be 3 layers of 1/4 inch. Making the hull 3/4 of an inch thick plus the fiberglass layer. Layer 1 Douglas Fir strip plank fore and aft. Layer 2-3 red cedar. Covered with 2 layers of biaxle on the bottom and one layer on the topsides. West System epoxy is our glue of choice.
