Building momentum together. Last week, 84 members of our Infrastructure team, along with leadership and partners from our Finance, IT, and Safety teams, came together for their annual work season Start-Up Seminar. The day kicked off with opening remarks from General Manager David Peters, followed by a hands-on team-building challenge that set the tone for collaboration and problem-solving. From there, team members heard from Chief Operating Officer Paul Duncan, who provided insight into Cando’s vision, priorities, and future growth—including our potential acquisition of Savage’s rail services business.
This year’s Infrastructure team start-up theme, “Raising the B.A.R.,” was thoughtfully developed by our team members in response to a shared commitment with our customers to continuous improvement. What do we mean when we say we are “Raising the Bar?”
Building: Emphasizing growth and continuous improvement
Accountability: Compliance, safety, and operational accountability
Reliability: Efficient and consistent performance
We also heard from leaders across the team: Andrew Wall, Manager of Track Maintenance, on the upcoming work season and key projects; Chrissy Bohemier CRST, NCSO, Safety Officer, on our Q2 safety focus; Travis Stokotelny, Manager of Infrastructure Renewal on that team’s key initiatives; and Maxim Delisle, GM of Engineering, on major Infrastructure and track design projects like our Sturgeon, Southlands, and Sarnia terminals.
With discussions on new capital investments, equipment, and operational priorities, the day reinforced our shared commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. We’re proud of the strong start to the season—and ready to keep raising the bar together.
