🌊 A Shiva temple where the sanctum is surrounded by water… in Kerala? 🔱

Hidden in Puthoor, Malappuram, Neerputhoor Mahadeva Temple is unlike most temples you will visit.

At its centre is a circular sanctum surrounded by water, creating the feeling that the temple is floating. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as a Swayambhu Shivalinga, believed by devotees to be self-manifested. (Outlook Traveller)

What makes it unique?

💧 The sanctum and parts of the inner temple area are associated with water throughout much of the year.
🕉️ The water has deep spiritual symbolism connected with Goddess Ganga.
