Movers and Shakers and we hope the same for you all.

July has had us definitely Moving and Shaking
and we are loving every minute of it!

We have been blessed to be a part of helping our cherished local retirement communities here in Barrie and surrounding areas this month, by providing the lovely folks whom reside there an easy, relaxing and enjoyable stress-free move, the way a your move should be!

their new homes into these amazing, fun-loving, relaxing communities and we are happy to be there every step of the way to ensure the "perfect move".

Movers and Shakers has great meaning.
We chose it to be our company's name for this reason and strive to embody it everyday in every way.

The phrase "Movers and Shakers" was coined by the Victorian English poet Arthur O'Shaughnessy. He used the phrase in his 1874 poem "Ode". "Movers and Shakers" refers to influential people who have the power to initiate change or make things happen, particularly in a specific field or industry. They are individuals who are active and impactful, driving progress and shaping outcomes.

Our field and our passion is taking care of people and Families. We consider it a great privilege to be a part of such an exciting day, and your new adventure.

We did 2 full truck loads, including a piano in Barrie last week for a wonderful family 😁🙏 . Here is one picture as the load was starting to take shape.

Please note all big items were strapped in place and light stuff on top.

Thank you. If you need a move, especially during the month-end, please try to get it organized sooner rather than later. The month-ends are really busy. We already have 7 jobs on pace for late May/early June. Thankfully, we have a large network of greater movers we work with.

When moving, if we walk into a living room holding a couch, and we ask the couple where they would like the couch. If they can't decide, whose expertise do we refer to? 😅

We have been keeping active :)

On May 1st we had 8 Movers across 3 jobs in Barrie, (More on this coming soon)
On May 3rd we had 4 Movers across 2 jobs in North Bay

Even in a storm, where we don't have power in our own homes. We still have never canceled a move on anyone.

We accommodate last-minute adjustments whenever needed, but for us, we are proud of our history as reliable movers who never cancel.

We have done moves at -25 feels like -30 or worse, we have done moves in scorching heat, in massive rainfalls, snowstorms, a tornado warning and now in a ice storm too.

We hope everyone is safe, warm, dry, and well-fed after this difficult weekend in Barrie.

Mike, his wife Tiffany and daughter Pearl got to take part in a super fun day yesterday-
A day fair at one of Barrie's finest retirement communities, the Waterford Aspira
This was a great opportunity for us to see some framiliar and new faces, say hello and thank you to the fine folks of the Waterford.
They have entrusted us with their moves and it is our pleasure to take care of them. The ladies were super excited to attend and worked lovingly and hard baking 100 chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies🍪 in preparation the night before . The house smelled amazing!
Everyone at the event loved them❤️

The Aspira Waterford Retirement Community here in Barrie, puts on many events for their residents so they can enjoy the best of retirement living.

Taking care of our elderly has quickly become one of the favorite parts of our business❤️
It feels really great to be a small part of a big decision in a family's life. We recognize the importance and senstive nature of moves like these and have made it a mission of ours to specialize in this area of the moving business. So we have reached out to businesses that can get your gracious donations into the hands of people that need them including, but not limited to:

The Barrie Women and Children's Shelter

The Furniture Bank

The Restore (for larger donated items)

For the smaller donation items we like to take them to the Double VV(Value Village) as they make many donations to businesses alike.

To best accommodate these types of moves we designed our declutter service. Essentially if you are down sizing and you have some things you may like to donate we can take care of that on moving day too. Possibly even a dump run if it helps. Whatever it takes.
We find this service is perfect for our elderly that are making a move into a condo or a retirement community.

Price updates for summer 2025 😁, Barrie maintains its rates from last year and North Bay sees a small increase from the prices we had in 2023.

We come up with these numbers by finding the other top movers in the areas we serve and trying our best to beat them. We are also always committed to trying to beat the prices of any other 5-star mover who may have better hourly prices.

It's a sensitive and competitive industry, so we do all we can to bring our best every day.
