She’s quiet, and always in behind the scenes, doesn’t like the limelight much but she’s truly the very loving hands behind our lanyards and personalized swag.

It all began at a park gathering, when she kept texting, “How many ladies are coming?” so she could bring homemade soaps for every single one.

That’s our Lorrie. Always thinking of others. 🥰

We miss your face at our luncheons and gatherings, friend. Though Nova Scotia is home now, you still have a place in our hearts here.

Sending so much love across the miles!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Did you know Scotland has over TEN THOUSAND registered tartans?

TEN THOUSAND! And here I thought there were only a thousand or so! They officially hit that milestone on April 4th, 2025!

And they're not just about family names!

You've got hunting tartans in earthy greens and browns, dress tartans for special occasions, ancient tartans with softer colours, and modern ones with bold shades!

There are tartans for clans, communities, military regiments, and even a beautiful memorial tartan honouring Princess Diana!

Who knew so much history could be woven into a piece of fabric?

I loved discovering this in Scotland!

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving to all the beautiful ladies of our Red Orchid Women’s Travel Club! ❤️

When I think about what I'm grateful for, this wonderful community of women is certainly high on my list!

The friendships we've made, the laughter we've shared, the camaraderie, strength and support we give one another. It's so much more than travel, isn't it?

Some of you arrived as strangers and have become such treasured friends. How lucky are we to have found one another! 🙌

From all of our hosts, we're sending you a big hug and wishing you a beautiful 🇨🇦 Thanksgiving weekend filled with love, laughter and all the little things that make life so special.

📌 And speaking of getting together, we hope to see many of you at our final dinner on October 23 at 6:30pm, or at our final luncheon of 2027 on November 18 at noon.

There's nothing quite like gathering around a table with this wonderful group of women.

Cheers to our stem sisters and entire sisterhood with all of our amazing women who make it what it is! 🥂🍁

💙 A little Scottish magic on the Isle of Skye! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oh, Skye… you were something special.

From the colorful harbor and fishing boats of Portree, to ancient stone bridges, rushing rivers, endless green landscapes and rainbows aplenty, this island gave us scenery in all its glory. 🌈

And apparently we discovered the secret to eternal youth! According to local folklore, those brave enough to place their face in the icy waters of the river are blessed with eternal youth. And yes… some of our ladies actually did it! 😂

Then we divided and conquered. A few of our adventurous ladies tackled the steep, muddy Old Man of Storr, battling wind and rain before being rewarded with the most spectacular rainbow.

The rest of us happily explored Portree, wandered through the little shops and, naturally, found the bakery.

And the weather? Oh, Scotland. 😂

Fairy rain, jackets on. Sunshine, jackets off. Wind. Rainbow. Repeat.

We also learned that Portree’s Harbor is undergoing much-needed repairs, which helps explain why this beautiful little port has disappeared from some cruise itineraries while work continues.

Cold rivers, old bridges, muddy boots, colourful Portree, glorious scenery and more rainbows than we could count.

The Isle of Skye gave us one of those days that felt wonderfully, unmistakably Scottish. 💙

🦕 In Search of Nessie… 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
There were a few ladies on this trip VERY determined to find Nessie, so off we went cruising beautiful Loch Ness! 😂

The water was rough that day, but our boat powered right through as we searched the dark waters for Scotland’s most famous resident. Our tickets even said ONE WAY, which naturally had us wondering if perhaps Nessie was going to find us instead. 🤣

Did we find her? Not officially… although who knew she’d be lurking right behind us? 😉🦕

Our cruise brought us to Urquhart Castle, dramatically perched on the banks of Loch Ness. These incredible ruins have witnessed around 1,000 years of Highland history, including battles and power struggles between the Scots and English. The castle was eventually deliberately destroyed in 1692 so it couldn’t be used by Jacobite forces, leaving behind the magnificent ruins we wander through today.

We explored the old stone walls and towers, then climbed up toward the visitor centre where the view back over the castle and Loch Ness was absolutely spectacular. 💚

History, mystery, wild water and one rather elusive monster. Just another day on our Scotland adventure! 😂

Woohoo... Colombia is NEXT! 🇨🇴
Our ladies are gathering in our private Facebook group, the countdown is officially ON, and our virtual pre-trip "Save the Date" get-together is on the calendar!

As Melanie & myself prepare to host this fabulous cultural adventure next month, I thought I’d pull out my original Colombia presentation for anyone who’d like to do a little armchair traveling with us.

It’s photo-rich and gives you a peek at where we’ll venture, what we’ll experience and the beautiful river cruise ship waiting for us on the Magdalena River.

The only thing missing? Our fabulous private pre-cruise experience I was able to put together for the ladies... and I’m REALLY looking forward to that one!

I’ve experienced Colombia before, but this time I get to see it through their eyes.

And if you’re watching along thinking, darn, I wish I hadn’t missed this one... remember, hosted groups are only one little part of what I do. Colombia can absolutely become your adventure too, and I’d be happy to help you create it.
