Meet Marie - after 19.5 years with Stage Door, she’s heading into retirement!
Throughout her time here, she built a role that reached far beyond her title. From accounting and tour invoicing to safety & compliance, work orders, and everything in between, she became someone the entire team could rely on.
She was never one to stay in one lane. Marie was always willing to learn, take on more, and step in wherever she was needed, which is what made her role so unique.
As she puts it, there was never a dull moment. No two days were ever the same, and you had to be ready for whatever came your way. That unpredictability is exactly what she loved most.
One of her favourite memories was getting a backstage pass to Ba*****ed Ladies and seeing how an entire show gets packed into a trailer like a game of Tetris. It gave her a whole new appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work she was part of every day.
After nearly two decades at Stage Door, and 31 years with the McNamara family, she always thought this is where she would retire.
Now that the time has come, she describes it as bittersweet. She’s not quite ready to leave, and says she’ll miss the hustle and bustle of each day.
Her advice to anyone joining the industry is simple: stay on your toes. Even during slower moments, there is always something to learn if you’re willing.
If she had to describe her time here in one sentence:
“It’s been a hell of a run.”
Thank you, Marie, for 19.5 years of dedication and hard work. You’ve left a lasting impact on Stage Door, and you will be greatly missed. Wishing you all the best in this next chapter.
