Hello and welcome to everyone who has stumbled across our page in the last couple of weeks. I don’t know if the blowing up of the bot farms in Russia had anything to do with it but suddenly we have hundreds of new followers! Welcome!

It was a very quick couple of days in Sydney and it was a little cool(ish) and damp but we had a good wander and saw some of our favourite places, before we head off to Adelaide for the next few weeks.

We finished up our time in the Northwest Territories with a tour of the provincial legislature, a trip to a museum, some arctic char, and a glass-etching workshop to produce our own souvenirs. Our Yellowknife NWT adventure continued last night with a drive out to Vee Lake for some aurora spotting. The sky was beautifully clear and we got some nice shots. Today was cloudy and cool so a couple of short hikes at two territorial parks was the order of the day.

We’ve spent the last couple of days exploring the city of Whitehorse and surrounding area: lots of walking, a museum visit, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, and Takhini Hot Springs. The weather has been pretty good: warms up to about 10C every afternoon and no rain. No Aurora, but there’s so much else to see, we’re okay with that.

Days Up North Day 2: today we drove west from Whitehorse to the village of Haines Junction, gateway to Kluane (“clue-AH- knee”) National Park. Stunningly beautiful drive with gorgeous scenery. We were looking hard for bears, elk, caribou, moose, wild horses … but no luck today.

And the Days are back on the road! We are on a short trip to the Yukon and Northwest Territories, two of Canada’s northern territories that we have never been to before. We are in Whitehorse, YT for a few days, then Yellowknife, to experience some fall-like weather before heading for warmer climes. (As always, click the pics for details.)
