First off, a quick apologies for being quiet on the posting front! I know it's been a while, but it's for a very good reason...

I'm incredibly excited to announce a new feature for the Bus Owners! This is a major step toward revolutionizing how they monitor your bus travel. The bus owner can see the front and inside of the bus in real time! They can use their dashboard features, like the auto "Count Passengers" on the live video feed, to gather precise data.

Unfortunately, buses are opting out of having their locations publicly visible at this time, but now they will be better able to know what is going on in the bus and better the situation for commuters. Of course I will continue to try to persuade them to make the location be publicly visible on the app :-)
The end goal is all about YOU.

Bus Tracking Without Data? We're On It!

Many of you told us you love tracking your bus on Ride Ya, but what about when you're low on data or have none at all? Thank you for the messages! I'm excited to share that we're developing a way for you to check your bus location via SMS — no internet needed!

Simply text your route, and Ride Ya will reply with the nearest bus and its ETA straight to your phone. 📲

I'm also Happy to say that a student at Galen University reached out about an internship inquiry, and we have a Galen student helping us build this pipeline feature! It's amazing to see young Belizean talent contributing to homegrown technology that serves our communities. 🎓🇧🇿

This is just the beginning. Ride Ya was built for every commuter — whether you're on Wi-Fi, mobile data, or just a basic text plan.

Over the last couple weeks, I've been deep in the code working on something new. Had to dust off some algorithms I learned back in Taiwan – tried the "Traveling Salesman", and a whole heap of other 🗺️spatial algorithms... but you know what worked best? Something called the "Lawn Mower" algorithm! 🧹
Check out the map – Belmopan City divided into 4 quadrants, each with optimized routes so a vehicle can cover every street efficiently. No backtracking, no wasted time.
A new app soon come! 👀
But I want to see who can guess... What kind of vehicle needs to hit every single street in the city? Drop your guess in the comments! 🤔⬇️

Mission Accomplished: The Hardware is Unlocked! 🛠️
The late nights paid off. I’ve successfully "cracked open" the dash cams and rebuilt their functionality from the ground up.

They aren't just standard cameras anymore. They are now fully integrated Ride Ya powerhouse running our custom code. This means total control and unprecedented data streaming directly to the Ride Ya dashboard.

We are getting full feature integration:
👀 Live View: Stream both Front and Rear cameras instantly.
⏯️ Access video recordings.
📶 WiFi Hotspot: Connectivity right from the device.
🚫 Remote Control: Automated remote shut-off of the vehicle. 📍 Real-Time Tracking: Precision live location monitoring. 🚨 And more: A whole suite of new alerts and safety features.

This is a massive level-up for fleet management in Ride Ya. The future of a smarter commuting is on its way! 🚌💨

Remember the pilot program we launched with Silva's Bus Line? The insights have been incredible, but we realized that to give you accurate data, we need to automate the process.

So, I ordered a batch of standard dashcams... and decided to void the warranties. 😉

I’m currently in the lab "jailbreaking" these cameras to install custom Ride Ya code. We aren't just tracking location anymore; we are building a custom computer vision system that automatically counts passengers the moment they step on board.

It’s messy right now, but the result is going to be a seamless experience for your daily commute. Stay tuned! 🔧🖥️

A Sneak Peek into the Future of Your Daily Commute! 🚌👀

I'm incredibly excited to announce a groundbreaking pilot program in partnership with Silva's Bus Line!

What’s happening? We are testing real-time passenger counting technology. Right now, Silva's Bus Line is using the Bus Owner Dashboard (pictured below!) to monitor exactly how many passengers are on their buses at any given moment. 📊

While this data is currently only visible to the bus owners during this testing phase, the end goal is all about YOU.

Once this pilot is successful, we will be integrating this feature directly into the RideYa app. Soon, when you tap on a vehicle in the app, you won’t just see its location—you’ll see how full it is and if there are seats available before it arrives! 🛋️🏃‍♂️

Great meeting today with the Belmopan City Council, exploring innovative solutions with Mayor Pablo Cawich and his team!

We had a productive discussion on how Ride Ya's technology can help them:
✅ Track their assets more efficiently.
✅ Set up optimized routes and real-time public tracking for the residents of Belmopan for garbage collection.
✅ And excitingly, we also brainstormed new ideas for the Busitos here in Belmopan, aiming to enhance public transport for everyone!

I am super glad that the Belmopan City Council is always looking for ways to leverage technology to make life easier for the residents of Belmopan! Excited for the possibilities ahead.
