Botswana Aviation Art Aviation Artwork by Jonathan Laverick Jonathan Laverick is an Aviation Artist based in Gaborone, Botswana.

He has a degree from Durham University in the UK, and currently teaches at Maru-a-Pula School. He uses both oil and acrylic on canvas in a minimalist simple, almost simplistic, style that captures the beauty and soul of the machines in these paintings. A number of his most recent works feature aeroplanes in Botswana, set against some of the outstanding scenery of this part of the world. He is also available for commissions - at very reasonable prices.

De-icing the Zurich to Jburg flight on Christmas Eve. This flight suffered an aborted takeoff the night before and the Captain did a great job of explaining the entire procedure to a cabin slightly more nervous than usual!

Para-motoring by the Chobe River in MSFS 2024 - given that my machine is good, but not brilliant, the improvement in graphics and framerate over 2020. However, it eats bandwith ;)

Today's Remembrance Service commemorating Botswana's contribution to WWI and WWII.

In 1940 the first of ten thousand young Batswana arrived in Gaborones and Lobatse for training before being posted to Northern Africa, Syria, and eventually Italy. The second Sunday of November saw the last six surviving veterans honoured at a Remembrance service in Gaborone.
