🐬🌴 A canceled cruise turned into an unforgettable adventure!

While I was away on my own cruise, my sister and brother-in-law were enjoying a different kind of getaway! With their permission, I wanted to share a few photos from their trip to Discovery Cove. 💙

Here’s the story! They had originally planned a cruise, but when my sister found out she was pregnant about 3–4 months before the trip, they decided to cancel out of caution. They still wanted a vacation close to home, so I asked my sister, “Do you trust me enough to plan a vacation for you?” 😂

She said yes, and within a couple of hours, I had their six-day getaway planned!

🏨 A SeaWorld partner hotel
🎢 SeaWorld and Aquatica tickets for the length of their stay
🐬 A full day at Discovery Cove with the dolphin swim
🎁 A $50 gift card for each of them through a special offer
🚗 Parking and additional package benefits

And all for about the same price as their canceled cruise!

My sister loved the idea, but my brother-in-law needed a little convincing. After watching a few videos, he was more on board. And after experiencing the vacation for themselves? He said they would definitely be going back, and soon! 🙌🏼❤️

This is why I love being a travel advisor. It’s not just about booking hotels and tickets; it’s about finding experiences that fit YOU, your interests, and your budget. Your vacation doesn’t have to be what you originally planned to be unforgettable. ✨

🚢 Day 4 — Disembarkation + everything I learned from our first MSC cruise!

And just like that, our cruise was over! We had a quick and easy walk-off disembarkation, made it through Customs, and were back in Florida before stopping for the most important part of any road trip home… Cracker Barrel. 😂

Since this was our first cruise, I wanted to share some of the things I learned along the way — including a few things I wish I had known BEFORE we boarded!

🤍 Dinner time: If you’re able to request or change your dining time, I’d recommend something around 6–7 PM. We had a 5 PM dinner, which meant we felt like we needed to start getting ready around 4 — washing/drying hair, changing, etc. — and we ended up missing Sailaway from the ports because we were at dinner. Next time, I’d definitely choose a slightly later dinner.

💰 A correction from my previous video: I mentioned the $51-per-person “hotel service charge” that I saw on our account. After hearing from other cruisers, I found out that there was a prepaid gratuity option that my sister chose not to select when booking, which is why that gratuity was showing up on our individual onboard accounts. So, when booking your cruise, make sure you understand how gratuities are handled and whether they’re prepaid or added to your onboard account.

That said, I still recommend keeping an eye on your onboard charges throughout the cruise. I overheard other cruisers discussing unexpected charges while we were in the thermal area, so it’s better to catch something while you’re still onboard than after you get home!

And probably my BIGGEST first-cruise lesson: research the ports just as much as you research the ship. I spent so much time learning about the MSC Seashore that I didn’t plan our port days nearly as much as I should have. 😅

Overall, we had such a fun first cruise with the family, and I hope this series gave you a realistic look at our experience — plus a few tips that can help you plan your own!

Would I cruise again? You’ll have to follow along for future trips to find out. 👀🚢

🌴 Day 3 of our MSC cruise — Ocean Cay! 🚢🌊

Ocean Cay was definitely one of my favorite stops! We spent the morning snorkeling, exploring the island, and enjoying the water before heading back to the ship for a late lunch and some pool time.

And of course, our last night was packed! An Italian-themed dinner, a little dance party with the dining staff, the thermal area, the final theater show, and the Sunshine Party to finish things off. 🤍

Also, a little cruise tip I learned along the way: I noticed a $51-per-person “hotel service charge” on our account after our room was serviced on Day 2. On Day 3, I put our room on Do Not Disturb before leaving, our room wasn’t serviced, and I didn’t see another charge. Just something I’ll definitely be paying closer attention to on future cruises!

One more day to go: Disembarkation! 👀🚢

🇧🇸 Day 2 — Bahamas + the famous MSC White Party! 🚢🤍

Our first Bahamas day was definitely a learning experience 😂 We didn’t have much of a plan, explored Bay Street and the Straw Market for a couple of hours, then headed back to the ship for lunch, swimming, and water slides.

We also squeezed in a few things that didn’t make it into the video — including getting our hair washed at the salon before dinner! No video of that unfortunately, but it was definitely a nice little addition to the day. 💆🏼‍♀️

Then came dinner, Rock Royalty, more exploring, a Latin dance class, and finally the MSC White Party! 🤍 It really was as much of an event as everyone says it is. And yes, that nephew who looks completely unimpressed? 😂 He was actually the one pushing us toward the front of the stage!

Day 2 was BUSY, but so much fun. And apparently we still had enough energy for a late night. 😂

More cruise days + tips coming! 🌊

🚢 MSC Cruise Day 1!

From an easy embarkation at Port Canaveral to lunch at the buffet, Pirate Cove, dinner, a VERY wavy evening 😂, a theater show, the thermal area, and somehow still finding room for a late-night snack… we packed a lot into our first day!

The ship was definitely rocking more than expected that night 🌊, but overall, embarkation was much smoother and quicker than I anticipated!

And yes… that little guy in the video fell asleep basically as soon as dinner started 😂 Apparently the rocking ship was better than a lullaby.

This is just the beginning! I’ll be sharing each day of the cruise with more details, tips, and things I learned along the way. 🚢✨
