Fishing off the southern coast of grand Bahamas! We usually spear fish and catch hogfish and snapper, but chase, Kyle’s friend wanted to rod and reel! He was successful!

But the highlight for me was this Sea Turtle came RIGHT up to our Dinghy! We are just in a 310 rib and this guy half the size of our dinghy comes right up to us to check us out!!!

Amazing experience!

Also saw a shark right in the marina again when we got back. Lemon shark about 7ft long. Video in comments of it.

Here it is, our most recent fun in Freeport Bahamas!

Enjoy!

For the next three weeks we will be here, prepping our boat to be on the hard for hurricane season! Looking for a weather window to enjoy the berry islands for a little maybe!

Well, they are off! Well, they are sitting at the airport until 1pm because today is the 1st and my Dad “has to work today” so he is sitting at the airport using the WiFi until their flight at 1pm.

It was an amazing time! 10 days of hanging with our parents in paradise! We did a lot of things on the island! I am glad my Dogs got to hang with their grand parents, glad they got to see the island, and happy to have the nice King bed in their unit for the 10 days they were here!

I am uploading a new YouTube video RIGHT NOW!
Stay tuned!

Our time with my Parents are coming to an end here in the Bahamas! Tomorrow we drop them off at 10:30am to the airport. Boo!

We have had an amazing time and we are so thankful and happy they came!

Yesterday we went to Owls Hole! I very large hole in the island with a freshwater reservoir! It was pretty gloomy and not sunny at all so the water was actually pretty dark in some spots, dare I say black even!

We took turns climbing down the ladder but none of us had the guts to cliff jump into it! Plenty of videos online of people doing it! If it was sunnier, I think I would’ve, better visibility for the fear of the unknown in the water!

After that we went to lucaya marketplace and ate at Cappuchinos - an itialian fine dining restaurant! Our server was the exact same server at banana bay beach club! Two jobs! He had to be maybe 20, young hustler!!

After that we made our way to Pier one - it’s right on the inlet to Freeport harbour, so that was cool to get my eyes on. We also passed Bradford marine while on the way - holy cow 10x the business than the boatyard I choose. But maybe that means I will get better service being a much smaller yard. We shall see.

At pier one at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm, they feed the sharks off their dock! You can pay $10 to get a bunch of pieces of raw chicken and feed them yourself too! My parents think the chicken was like expired or something cause it smelt funnnnkkyy! Right as 7pm hit a giant storm rolled in. Lighting through the sky, tons of rain, and Velma’s worse nightmare, THUNDER! Fear of her pi***ng or pooping in our boat, we asked our dock neighbors if they would be willing to check on her. When we got back to our boat Carly, Guys partner, was in our boat cuddling Velma. It was perfect. We can’t thank them enough! They are also leaving tonight 😭😭😭 Guy and Carly have been amazing to get to know. And their very small barking dog hoomi, he’s so cute! They are in a few of our YouTube videos now and we now have lifelong cruisin friends. They are actually leaving their boat in Westland boatyard in Titusville, that’s where we left Robin last hurricane season!

Today my parents want us to take them out sailing. It should be a decent day for it. We will go around 11-12, for maybe 4-5 hours of sailing. The inlet exits south, and the wind is coming from the south, so I can ride up either side of the island and have a great sail.

Still enjoying the Bahamas!!!

Unfortunately I only took videos yesterday, so I will try to get pictures from Dawn or Bri and add them!

Yesterday was extremely exciting day!

I met Kyle on the app sea people - he is on a 30ft Catalina that he solo sails! He loves diving, scuba, snorkeling, spearfishing, and so we went out with my other neighbor Guy - who loves to Snorkel also - and we went snorkeling! I ran the dinghy for 3.5 hours while they snorkeled and spearfish the entire time! Covering nearly 3-4 miles of snorkeling in decent swell. Maybe 18knots of consistent wind! It was super fun! I got my feet wet snorkeling with guy the other day. Now I’ve ran the dinghy for a dive. Next time I believe I’ll feel confident to be the one diving! Kyle suggest very large fins - freeing fins. And he had a pole spear instead of a Hawaiian sling.

Today the fires on Freeport are crazy strong. Smoke everywhere - our marina smells like a stinky fire and the air is white.

Today we will explore more with the dogs.

This video shows us hanging out in the Bahamas with my Parents, our neighbors at the marina, and having a good time with the dogs! We even go to a National park and learn a crazy story about a 12 year old Lucayan Girl who was perfectly preserved in an underwater tavern!

Conchs and Sharks!

Yesterday was awesome. We visited Charlton at Knowles boat yard and locked in our haul out date!!!

We locked in our flights home from the Bahamas! Prepping to work all summer in Glacier National Park!

After the boatyard we drove alllllll the way to west end! We wanted to explore the entire island with our parents, because who knows when we will be back to Freeport with a car in this capacity!

The craziest thing we saw in West end was the mounds and mounds and mounds of conch! I don’t want to exaggerate, but I would guess I laid my eyes on nearby 60,000 empty conch shells, maybe and probably more! That number is being generous! While driving there would be massive piles on the shore line, 1-3 guys standing in the water, and 2-3 large large wooden traps out right off the shore, with a skiff or Jon boat nearby. I believe the largest wooden traps were harvesting conch, and the guys were cutting the conch out, and throwing the shells into the piles. We did stop and found the MOST PINK shell we have laid our eyes on. I’ll post pics of that in a bit. We went to the straw bar in west end and got Bahamas mamas and food. I had mahi tacos and they were aaaamazing. Sadly the Bahamas mamas got my stomach feeling horrible almost instantly and I had to stop eating and just drink some water. Was super weird. Bri says the juice was too sweet for my stomach.

After that we walked all the way down the beach and found some amazing conch! I found a shell bigger than my head! I have it in bleach water right now and it’s going to be beautiful! We quickly realized finding a conch shell wasn’t that special lol, but it’s still fun!

After settling down for the evening another fishing boat pulled up next to us in the empty slip. Our neighbors are also back from the berries so we got to chat with them about their time, that will be in our next YouTube video.

The fishing boat brought a lemon shark into the marina!!! It was insane! The kid had a cut up black fin tuna on a hook splashing it around behind his boat, and the shark was trying to get it! Was insane to watch! I am sure some people will be upset, because of the recent shark attacks in Bimini, and the advocating for not feeding sharks in marinas, but they didn’t actually feed it, and this was the first shark we have ever saw in the marina.

Amazing experiences! So glad to be here! Today I might go snorkeling with our neighbors on the morgan38
