Unfortunately, ex-RET 306 has suffered a light crash a few days ago, leading to the replacing of its original windshields with flat ones and other modifications to the front. This is what it looks like now.

As promised , today I will show you the other Hainje, converted into a technical support machine. This is ex-RET 217, it was refitted for technical assistance in November 2012, replacing the previous second technical support bus, which was a Chavdar 11G5 bus. Just like the Chavdar, it barely comes out of the depot, instead it's used to move immobile buses around the depot if necessary. An interesting part about this one is the way the windshield has been replaced, which differs from other Hainjes with replaced windshields such as GVB 349 (see picture below), 354 and 359, and RET 302 and 208. What I don't know is whether this replacement has been done here in Burgas or back in Rotterdam.

My first picture of one of the Hainjes, refitted as a technical assistance bus - ex-RET 306, as it tows a failed ex-Linz Linien MAN NG272 bus back to the depot. The picture was taken in December 24th, 2012, the day before Christmas. The bus is still in operation to this day. Next, In the next post, i'll be showing the other DAF/Hainje, refitted as a tech-assistance bus - ex-RET 217.
