At Port-La Nouvelle, Euroports is not only supporting the energy transition through floating offshore wind. It has also become a leading player in the circular economy across the Mediterranean.
Every year, several hundred thousand tonnes of materials resulting from recycling, reuse and recovery pass through the port facilities operated by Euroports.
These include:
๐น Shredded tires produced from end-of-life tires. This material is recycled and repurposed for a wide range of applications;
๐น Recycled glass (cullet, raw glass and RFO), received at the port before being exported to processing facilities. These materials are used to manufacture new glass products while reducing the consumption of virgin raw materials and lowering the carbon footprint of the glass industry.
๐น End-of-life wind turbine equipment, which is stored, prepared and shipped to new international markets. Some turbines are refurbished and given a second life, while their components are reused or recovered as part of a circular economy approach.
These activities are fully aligned with Euroports' strategy to develop more sustainable logistics chains, reduce the environmental impact of industrial supply chains and promote the large-scale reuse and recovery of valuable materials.
At the same time, Euroports operates the Wind Energy Terminal at Port-La Nouvelle, now recognized as a Mediterranean benchmark for the assembly and logistics of floating offshore wind turbines. The Group is also supporting the development of an innovative industrial ecosystem focused on offshore wind, green hydrogen and the energy solutions of tomorrow.
