⚡ Another important development for electric mobility in Belgium.

ENGIE Vianeo has won a major public contract to deploy nearly 3,000 additional charging points in Wallonia.

The announced ambitions are significant:

▪️ 12,000 charging points in Belgium by 2028,

▪️ 25,000 across Europe by 2030,

▪️ and 1,000 dedicated to heavy-duty vehicles.

This is clearly a sign that charging infrastructure continues to develop.

At the same time, a lot still remains to be proven in practice, especially in terms of actual deployment, usage, accessibility and alignment with real transport needs.

Hydrogen mobility is taking another concrete step in Belgium.

Atawey has announced the deployment of three new hydrogen stations for heavy mobility in Belgium by the end of 2027, with a total distribution capacity of more than 7 tonnes per day. The project is linked to Colruyt Group and Virya Energy.

For the mobility energy market, this is an important signal. Hydrogen is still developing, but projects like this show that the infrastructure side is continuing to move forward, especially for intensive and heavy-duty use cases.

Since 1 January, our teams have handled more than 300 new tickets through our CRM. And these figures do not include phone calls.

At this stage, we are still talking about exploration, not a confirmed exploitable resource.

📊 The latest European Commission data confirms one thing very clearly.

Europe is not moving toward one single mobility energy.

It is moving toward a much more diverse landscape, where infrastructures, technologies and fleet composition differ significantly from one country to another.

EV charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly. Heavy duty charging is beginning to emerge. Natural gas still maintains a visible footprint in several markets. Hydrogen, for now, remains much more limited. And the same applies to fleets.

The share of BEV, PHEV, LPG, CNG, LNG and H2 vehicles varies widely across Europe, showing that the transition is not following one common path.

That is what makes this shift so important to understand.

The challenge is no longer only about choosing the right energy. It is increasingly about being able to manage a growing mix of mobility energies over time.

This is where complexity rises. And where visibility becomes strategic.

A recent article reported a case where a truck driver is suspected of having diverted fuel worth more than €26,000.

Beyond the individual situation, this highlights a broader operational reality: fuel remains a high value asset within transport companies. Without proper monitoring, deviations can go unnoticed for weeks or even months.

Effective control goes far beyond simply recording transactions. It involves real time tracking of fuel withdrawals, reconciliation between dispensed volumes and actual vehicle consumption, anomaly detection based on predefined thresholds, and cross checking GPS vehicle positions at the exact moment of each transaction.

When fuel data, vehicle data and telematics are aligned, inconsistencies become visible much earlier.

The objective is not surveillance. It is transparency, accountability and operational control.
