ELA information point inside an SSTPA

Tomorrow on the E40: an ELA information point opens at a secure truck parking.

On Sunday 13 September, drivers who pull into Circle K Jabbeke North SSPA (direction Ostend) will find ELA, ESPORG and EWELLIN on the lot.

The point of the day is simple. Rules need a place. Posting and rest-time rules only become real if a driver can stop somewhere safe, ask a question, and rest with dignity. That is why ELA is putting an **information point inside SSTPAs** — not in a meeting room, at the parking where the night is spent.

ESPORG members host that place. A certified secure parking is the infrastructure. The ELA corner is the conversation. EWELLIN is the wellbeing thread that ties them together: health, rest, safety, respect.

Come to the stand or stay at your cab. From 10:00. No booking.

We are excited to invite you to a special day dedicated entirely to you. As part of our second annual "Drive Safe, Park Safe, Work Safe, Live Well" campaign, we are hosting a unique event at Truck Park Liège — Hesbymazout.

This campaign is hosted by secure parking operators with one goal in mind: to raise awareness about the importance of your health and wellbeing as a professional driver. We know life on the road is demanding, and we want to ensure you have the support and resources you need to stay healthy and safe.

Join us for a one-day event at Remicourt (Exit 30 on the E40, just five minutes from Liège airport) for a day of care and community:

* 10:30 AM — Welcome: Start your day with us! Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soup, fresh juice, fruit, biscuits, muffins, and local honey.
* 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM — Free Health Check-ups: Visit our dedicated health area to meet the Wellbeing Initiative Team and get a free check-up.
* 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM — Free Lunch: Join us for a complimentary meal at the food truck.
* All Day — Stay Active: Enjoy our dedicated programs, including walking and cycling circuits (5, 6, or 8 km) and light exercise. We have bikes available on-site for you to use!

The certified parking map has a blind spot: the drivers who serve airport logistics routes. The highway corridor infrastructure is not built for them — and at the Wellbeing Days in Brescia, Alessandro Geroli came to Panel II to talk about what fills that gap. 🧡

Alessandro is Parking Manager at AirPullman, the company operating 'Parcheggio Sicuro AirPullman' at Milan Malpensa Airport. AirPullman is a Wellbeing Pledge signatory — a documented public commitment to driver wellbeing — and its facility has been a candidate for the Truck Parking Award, recognition for facilities that put driver safety and comfort first.

Drivers serving the airport logistics chain have the same need for certified, safe stopping points as any other professional driver. AirPullman exists because someone decided to provide them. Alessandro manages that facility every day — and made the case for it in front of the whole sector at Brescia. 🛡️

Dirk Penasse — General Manager of ESPORG — was at Wellbeing Days Bucharest to close Romania's first edition of the campaign and personally thank USER for stepping up as the country's first Wellbeing Ambassador.

For 15 years, Dirk has led a network of more than 120 secure parking operators across Europe. The EU Parking Standard ESPORG promotes turns the Wellbeing Pledge from an intention into a measurable, verifiable commitment — country by country. 🟠

What role does a local public authority play in driver wellbeing? Silvia Pérez — Director of Roads at Deputación Foral de Gipuzkoa — answered that at Europe's first Wellbeing event. 🛣️

The institution she represents is directly linked to BIDEGI, a Wellbeing Pledge signatory — proof that public road infrastructure and driver wellbeing are not separate conversations. 🟠

Drivers stranded at Channel crossings. Hours of waiting that eat into legal rest time. Conditions that no policy document adequately captures until someone names them plainly. At the LeShuttle Freight Wellbeing Event in Coquelles, Sébastien Rivera named them. 🧡

Regional Secretary General of FNTR Pas-de-Calais — the regional chapter of France's national road transport federation, representing more than two-thirds of organised transport companies in France — Sébastien has been publicly advocating for better treatment of drivers on the transmanche route, pushing back against conditions that fall well below what the wellbeing campaign considers acceptable.

FNTR became an ESPORG member on 1 January 2026 — a formal step that connects France's largest transport federation to the certification framework the campaign is building. The regional chapter Sébastien leads in Pas-de-Calais is on the front line of what that commitment looks like in practice: drivers, crossings, customs, conditions.

The federation voice was in the room. And it was honest. 🛡️
