The 31st Beyond Borders Breakfast Debate will focus on the Skills Portability Initiative, part of the EU's newly adopted Fair Labour Mobility Package, exploring how easier recognition and digital portability of skills and qualifications can help cross-border workers access employment faster, support employers — especially SMEs — in tackling labour shortages, and strengthen the integration of border labour markets across .

⚡ Hydrogen could help cut fossil fuels in transport and industry, but Europe faces a gap: not enough trained technicians to install, maintain and run the technology safely, and not enough infrastructure ready to use it.

Regions are tackling both sides of the problem together. Through the Interreg project Green SKHy, trainers from France, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg are jointly developing hydrogen skills, with a mobile training lab reaching regions that have no facilities of their own, and some of France's first certified Hydrogen Installation Technicians will be trained through this work.

Meanwhile, through the Interreg project HYDEA, 11 ports across France, Ireland, Spain and Portugal are preparing for hydrogen infrastructure, so the workforce and the facilities arrive together.

If you're 18 to 30 years old and live in the EU or an EFTA country, this is a real opportunity to make your voice heard at EU level.

During a six-month mandate, Ambassadors will:
🎥 create content published on BFPN and European Commission channels
🤝 take part in monthly exchanges with DG REGIO
📝 lead a personal activity such as a podcast, short video, youth event, or policy brief

All Ambassadors receive a Certificate of Completion signed by DG REGIO, and outstanding contributions may be featured in Commission communications.
