BMW F 450 GS – First Ride Thoughts 👌
I honestly didn’t expect the new BMW F 450 GS to impress me this much.
On photos it looks quite small, and as a taller rider I thought it might feel cramped. But once I got on it, it felt surprisingly comfortable and much more mature than I expected.
For A2 riders, this might be one of the best all-round packages out there. With its 35 kW output, it fits perfectly within the A2 category while still being fun and engaging to ride.
What really stands out is the value for money. You’re getting a real GS experience, modern technology, great handling and a bike that feels much bigger than its engine size suggests.
The low weight makes it incredibly agile, whether you’re riding through traffic, carving corners or exploring back roads. The engine is lively, sounds better than I expected, and delivers enough punch to put a smile on your face without constantly worrying about your licence.
My only criticism is that the handlebar feels slightly low for my height, but that’s easily solved with bar risers.
Overall, BMW has created a bike that’s approachable, fun and surprisingly capable. If I were looking for an A2 adventure bike today, this would definitely be high on my list.
