Following completion of the conversion works, our LNG carrier TURA is now en route to Buenaventura, Colombia, to operate as a Floating Storage Unit (FSU) for the Regasificadora del Pacífico project. This achievement will strengthen Colombia’s energy security and resilience, also during the El Niño period.

A big thank you to our dedicated EXMAR teams, whose expertise and commitment made this complex transformation possible. From initial planning to successful departure, TURA’s journey reflects innovation, teamwork, and a shared vision for a brighter energy future.

Welcome ADINKERKE and AALTER to the EXMAR family!

Tuesday we had the pleasure of naming our third and fourth dual-fuel ammonia-powered oceangoing vessels. Soon, they will join our fleet, next to their sister vessels ANTWERPEN and ARLON.

Thank you for the dedication and hard work of the shipyard, the EXMAR teams, and the godmothers for their blessings.

ADINKERKE and AALTER will sail under the Belgian flag and will later be delivered in the capable hands of the captain and crew of EXMAR Ship Management.⚓

Today, our second dual-fuel ammonia midsize gas carrier, ARLON, was delivered at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea.

Just like her sister vessel ANTWERPEN, ARLON will be owned by EXMAR France and sail under the Belgian Flag. Now she can prepare herself for her maiden voyage on the open sea. ARLON represents yet another step forward toward the decarbonization of shipping.

ARLON is capable of carrying up to 46,000 m³ of ammonia or LPG and trading with close to zero emissions when using low-carbon ammonia fuel. The vessel meets and exceeds current IMO emissions reduction targets, reducing greenhouse gases by up to 90% compared to conventional ships.

EXMAR is proud to share a major milestone: the successful completion of ANTWERPEN’s first commercial voyage using ammonia as fuel.

During her voyage from China to India, the vessel achieved ammonia dual-fuel operation fully in line with our expectations and design, demonstrating that the technology works in commercial service. Together with our partners, we continue to fine-tune the systems as we build on this outstanding achievement. We are proud of our crew for their excellent pioneering work.

We are proud to announce the historic delivery of MGC ANTWERPEN, the first oceangoing vessel powered by a dual-fuel ammonia engine.

This milestone marks a decisive step forward in the decarbonisation of shipping, positioning EXMAR and partners at the forefront of sustainable maritime innovation.
