Our Consumer and Project Logistics divisions are joining forces to coordinate a series of production equipment shipments for a long-standing to***co customer, connecting Berlin with manufacturing sites across Europe, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The latest shipment is a to***co dryer, which is now being prepared for breakbulk transport to the Philippines.

👋 Welcoming a new customer to the warehouse in Ho Chi Minh City — a Belgian furniture manufacturer expanding its activities in Vietnam

Our team has worked closely with the customer to prepare the warehouse for imported beech wood raw materials. The oversized pallets require specialized forklifts and careful handling.

Together, we developed cargo-specific procedures covering inbound inspection, safe movement and storage, inventory control, and outbound preparation with damage prevention as a key priority.

The first shipment is now moving through the warehouse. This marks the beginning of a new customer relationship and a warehouse setup designed to adapt as their operations in Vietnam grow.

📦🔄 A warehouse setup should not be treated as a something fixed

In 3PL, the operation has to follow the way the customer’s business actually develops. More e-commerce activity, new order patterns or a different sales channel mix can change what the warehouse needs to do, even if the product category stays the same.

This was the case with a garden equipment distributor at our Almaty warehouse. The initial setup worked for the business at the start, but as online sales developed, the operation needed to support different fulfilment flows, picking requirements and a more nuanced WMS integration.

🌴Palma Bay sounds like a vacation spot. But for Ahlers Vietnam, it was a job site this week

Our team coordinated the delivery of oversized steel structures from Vietnam to Mozambique, working with one of Vietnam’s largest steel fabricators. This critical cargo is part of many shipments for a major gas development project currently underway in Africa.

Ahlers scope covered transport to the loading site, consultation on the lifting operation and on-site supervision, including complex loading onto a barge. Despite ongoing port congestion and limited vessel availability on the Africa lane, the team managed the project within a tight schedule. They also coordinated all export/import customs formalities, ensuring the cargo was ready for each next step in the journey.‌

Vietnamese manufacturers are taking a more active role in major international energy projects. And our job is to support that reach by moving complex cargo with the control and precision these projects demand.

📊 Somewhere between Excel sheets, CO₂ calculations and routes to Central Asia, seven students got a real taste of logistics.

Together with Arteveldehogeschool, we invited Supply Chain program students to work on two real customer cases – looking at costs, transit times and emissions to see where alternative transport options could add value.

Along the way, they interviewed our teams, worked with the GLEC framework, compared scenarios and even built a new tool to evaluate different transport options.

🚢 Supporting our customer’s production in Vietnam with another project delivery

Continuing our cooperation with one of Europe’s leading global shipbuilders, we delivered more than 159 tonnes of oversized assembled gangways, additional equipment and containers from Spain to their production facility in Vietnam. The solution combined door-to-door transport and chartering services.

It took close coordination between our teams in Europe and Vietnam, working alongside the customer from planning through ex*****on. Every leg of the journey also came with its own requirements: heavy-duty trucking to the port for loading, barging from a floating pier in Vietnam with strict compliance to route permits and safety regulations, and detailed planning to keep both costs and timelines under control.
