Mystic by night – impressive by day! 🚢

Earlier last month, our German client Harren Group approached EDR Antwerp Shipyard with a request for a follow-up docking of their newbuild vessel Patricia.

With a short lead time and an impressive piece of cargo on board, this docking presented an interesting challenge for our team. Safely bringing a vessel of this size, carrying such a remarkable load, into drydock requires careful preparation, precise coordination and seamless communication.

Once again, a successful operation made possible by the close collaboration between our client, dockmaster and estimating team.

What an impressive sight to see at our shipyard!

⛵ Installing sails on a tanker will definitely get noticed!

In a world where shipping is often scrutinised for its fossil fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, it is encouraging to see green initiatives being put into practice.

Many sustainable retrofits are barely visible from the outside, such as:

• Ultra-smooth hull treatments with silicone paints
• Propeller replacements
• Bulbous bow replacements
• Propulsion modifications
• Engine power limitations
• And many more

But installing eSAILs on board of a tanker is something that is hard to miss.

The bound4blue eSAIL installations certainly attract attention, and we are proud to have successfully completed another installation at our shipyard — with one more already lined up.

Reducing CO₂ emissions, one retrofit at a time. 🌍

Last weekend, Trouillard and De Cuyper represented EDR Antwerp Shipyard during the 43rd Peter Gast Shipping GmbH Sailing Regatta from Kapelln to the beautiful Aeroskobing Denmark🇩🇰 . Although a regatta where participation and teamwork is most important, the amazing crew one their class with the vessel Aurelia (sunbeam 53 - owned by Jens Gottschalk GmbH ).

Again an amazing event with excellent result! Thanks to the crew of Gottschalk and friend - see you next year!

Sometimes, the smartest place to repair a vessel isn’t a drydock. ⚓

The Condor Magallanes is a great example.
Instead of moving into one of EDR Antwerp Shipyard’s drydocks, our team brought the repair expertise to the vessel carrying out the works directly alongside the quay at Nova Natie nv . We own and operate our own floating equipment including pontoons for port repairs. A dedicated port repair team combines the skills and experience of fast port repairs with the technical backbone of a shipyard.

Because every project is different. And the best solution is the one that combines safety, efficiency and flexibility.
