Whole city, one station! πŸ˜²πŸŒ†πŸš‰ πŸ“

Tejgaon Railway Station, Dhaka

A train has just arrived at Tejgaon Station, and hundreds of people are crowding to get on board. πŸš‰ The train is already full inside, and passengers are sitting on the roof too. The crowd is so big that it feels like the whole city has come to the station! πŸ˜²πŸŒ†

This video shows the rush of everyday travel, where people are in a hurry to reach home, work or loved ones. ⏱️

⚠️ Safety Reminder:
Overcrowding and roof travel can be very dangerous. Please always:
βœ… Never travel on the roof of a train
βœ… Do not push or rush while boarding
βœ… Wait for the train to stop completely before getting on or off
βœ… Stay behind the yellow line on the platform
βœ… Keep children and elderly passengers safe in the crowd

Travelling safely matters more than travelling quickly. β€οΈπŸ™

πŸ˜±πŸš‚ Massive crowded train!πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦

Tongi Railway Station, Dhaka, Bangladesh, just before the Eid holidays. Captured from a drone, this video shows a train pulling out of the station carrying an overwhelming rush of passengers. 🚁😲

From above, the scene is even more striking. People are packed everywhere: sitting and standing inside, hanging from the doors, and crowded on the roof and even on the engine. πŸš‚πŸ‘₯ They are leaving the city to spend the holiday with their families, and it looks like one of the most crowded trains in the world. 😨

The wish to get home for Eid is understandable, but this way of traveling is deadly. ⚠️ Hanging from doors and riding on the roof or the locomotive can lead to a fatal fall in an instant. πŸ’” A moment of joy can turn into a lifelong tragedy.

This video, made by RRBD, is a message to raise awareness. Please don't risk your life for a ride. Plan ahead, buy your ticket in advance, and travel safely so you can reach home safe this Eid. πŸŽŸοΈπŸ™

Locomotives need U-turns too! πŸ˜„πŸš‚

Locomotive Turntable at Kamalapur Station Yard, Dhaka πŸš‚πŸ”„ | A Century-Old Technology

πŸ“ Kamalapur Station Yard, Dhaka

Inside the Kamalapur Station yard in Dhaka stands a turntable, a technology that has been used to turn locomotives around for over a hundred years. πŸ”„πŸš‚

Modern locomotives are designed to be driven equally well from both ends. But Bangladesh still has a significant number of older locomotives with a "short hood" and "long hood" design. On the way to the destination, the driver sits at the front of the engine. On the return trip, however, the driver has to sit at the rear end, which reduces the locomotive master's field of vision. πŸ‘€βš οΈ

To avoid this problem, the locomotive is turned around on the turntable so that the driver can face forward again. βš™οΈβœ¨
