Karim International

Karim International Publishers Representation, Import and Distribution of Foreign Publications in Bangladesh It also promotes Local Publications worldwide.

Karim International is a Distributing Company for a diverse array of International Publishers. We primarily focus on Books and Journals related to higher education and the professional world. We have established a distinguished track record with International Publishers (especially in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, Economics and Business). We have recently expanded our distribution work

with International Islamic Publishing Houses who enjoy extensive presence from New York to Sydney.]

KARIM INTERNATIONAL’s beginnings can be traced back to 1976, when it started small scale in old Dhaka, as publishers’ representatives and indentors. We were consultants to various institutional buyers of books and journals in Bangladesh—say World Bank, BARI, Bangladesh Armed Forces. It was a time when such services were badly needed. Local importers at the time lacked the knowhow or discipline to get foreign publications to service local demand, and create markets for such publications. Karim International is also rendering services to the local publishers in promoting their publications abroad. This work is very important to us. We participated at the 1984 World Book Fair in New Delhi, and also participated at the Frankfurt International Book Fair of 1989 and 1992. We did our utmost to showcase Bangladeshi publications. We are now working as the main supplier of Bangladeshi Publications to the Library of Congress which is the single biggest purchaser of publications from all over the World. As the services of Karim International consistently expanded, we shifted to our current spacious location—Yasin Bhaban, Tejgaon in 1987. Karim International had been careful in selecting its projects. We became the first distributor in Bangladesh that organized Book Exhibitions for International Publishers. Such exhibitions were not only held in the Capital city of Dhaka but also in the Cities of Chittagong and Rajshahi. The publishers got maximum opportunity to display their products to potential readers. Everyone welcomed our effort. We campaigned for many years to have foreign publications participate in Dhaka Book Fair. And finally, from 1995 onwards, the National Book Centre (the fair organizing body) is encouraging display of foreign publications at the Fair. Karim International’s presence in both the 1995 and 1996 Dhaka Book Fairs was most rewarding for the serious readers and book lovers as a wide range of titles from different publishers were displayed at the pavilion of Karim International. From September 1995, the North-South University Book Shop, a project of Karim International, Started its operation at the main Campus of the North-South University. The formal opening ceremony and the launching of the Cambridge University Press Low Price Edition book place on 25th October at the North-South University. Not only as a University Book Shop, but also as a General Book Shop for all categories of readers, the NSU Book Shop became one of the best bookshops in the city. Karim International’s ELT Book-Shop is running full throttle. The British Council’s Teaching Centre(situated at Dhanmondi Sath Masjid Road), all its English Teaching resources are sourced from this ‘tiny’ shop. All the student copies of textbooks for general English or IELTS, getting them to the students, are our responsibility. Over the years, we have built up a tradition in meeting all the requirements of our clients of all required books and journals in all subject areas from Astronomy to Zoology (A-Z) from all over the World. KI represents the major International Publishers and Distributors bot on Exclusive as well as non-Exclusive basis. KIs goal is to help people make progress in their lives through learning. We aim to be the Bangladesh’s leading learning company, serving the citizens of a brain-based economy wherever and whenever they are learning, by providing the necessary resources on time. Our strategy is to deliver the books on time to our end-users, we try to cater the needs of all the major institutions by placing their orders on a priority basis, and we also very swift in making payments to our Publishers. Corporate social responsibility is an established notion these days. Historically, major businesses would take social actions in spite of governmental or societal pressures per se. Here in Karim International, we prefer stating that notion as responsible business practice. We fully appreciate that businesses are not merely profit-maximizing units. As part of that thinking, we focus on two areas:
• Advance the cause of learning
• Encourage industry wide competition
Our work in Bangladesh has been pioneering. We helped create extensive institutional demand for quality international publications. Our relationship with British Council Teaching Centre is the model of what we accomplished. English language teachings have had an irreversible thrust from our actions. Our distribution and promotional activities in our nascent years opened up niche markets for multitude of others. It had been a conscious effort on our part to ensure that Bangladesh enjoys the widest menu of choices when it comes to international publications. Fate would be witness to us sometimes deliberately relinquishing import of publications of certain kind, only to be spurred on into taking over certain others by publishers themselves. Today KARIM INTERNATIONAL is being considered as THE BEST SOURCE OF FOREIGN BOOKS & JOURNALS IN BANGLADESH by all our valuable clients. All these are result of our unwavering commitment to add value to our clients and to the International Publishers who distribute through us. We firmly believe that our accountability has taken us this far. We are proud to interact with ALL THE PUBLISHERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD WHOM WE REPRESENT BOTH ON an EXCLUSIVE AS WELL AS on NON-EXCLUSIVE BASIS. We shall ever renew our ties with the Institutional, Commercial and even Individual Clients. We thank all the Heads of Institutions, Librarians, Teachers, Students & General Readers and fellow citizens of Bangladesh. KARIM INTERNATIONAL’s vision is to see quality international publications reach all corners of Bangladesh. KARIM INTERNATIONAL’s mission is to deliver, on time, international publications to institutions and individuals to cater to their training or learning needs. KARIM INTERNATIONAL aims to
1. Establish sustained and genuine relations with our clients—institutional or otherwise.
2. Strengthen our network of clients and international publishers through greater cooperation.
3. Work with the Government and Educational institutions, here in Bangladesh, to fulfill demand for quality publications.
4. Defend intellectual property rights in all our operations, and object strongly to the ongoing, rampant piracy. KARIM INTERNATIONAL has always valued the right of the people to quality education. What could be a quality education without quality books and materials? We tend to think of ourselves as an educational service provider, therefore. We are here for the long haul, and imagine serving the citizens of a soon to be knowledge-based country, a gem of Asia and a greater global participant. We are proud to render services to this fine nation.

A Brief History of Time

A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes is a theoretical book on cosmology by English physicist Stephen Hawking.[1] It was first published in 1988. Hawking wrote the book for readers who had no prior knowledge of physics and people who are interested in learning something new about interesting subjects.

In A Brief History of Time, Hawking writes in non-technical terms about the structure, origin, development and eventual fate of the Universe, which is the object of study of astronomy and modern physics. He talks about basic concepts like space and time, basic building blocks that make up the Universe (such as quarks) and the fundamental forces that govern it (such as gravity). He writes about cosmological phenomena such as the Big Bang and black holes. He discusses two major theories, general relativity and quantum mechanics, that modern scientists use to describe the Universe. Finally, he talks about the search for a unifying theory that describes everything in the Universe in a coherent manner.

The book became a bestseller and sold more than 25 million copies

The Age of AI: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity Hardcover – March 3, 2020

Are robots going to take my job? How are smartphones affecting my kids? Do I need to worry about privacy when I get online or ask Siri for directions? Whatever questions you have about AI, The Age of AI gives you insights on how to navigate this brand-new world as you apply God's ageless truths to your life and future.

Alexa, how is AI changing our world? We interact with artificial intelligence, or AI, nearly every moment of the day without knowing it. From our Twitter and Facebook social media feeds to our online carts to smart thermostats and Alexa and Google Home, AI is everywhere. In The Age of AI, Jason Thacker--associate research fellow at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission--helps us navigate our digital age in this thoughtful exploration of the social, moral, and ethical challenges of our ongoing interactions with artificial intelligence.

Applying God's Word to this new AI-empowered age, The Age of AI shows us how Christian truth transforms how we use AI in order to love God and our neighbor better. It serves as a guide for those wary of technology's impact on our society and also for those who are enthusiastic about where AI is taking us. Jason explains how AI affects us individually, in our relationships, and in our society at large as he addresses AI's impact on our bodies, sexuality, work, economics, and privacy. With theological depth and a wide awareness of the current trends in AI, Jason is a steady guide reminding us that while AI is changing most things, it does not change the foundations of the Christian faith.

Get Out of Your Head: Stopping the Spiral of Toxic Thoughts Hardcover – January 28, 2020
by Jennie Allen (Author)

The visionary behind the million-strong IF:Gathering challenges Christian women to transform their outlook and their lives by interrupting their spiraling thoughts and realizing their God-given power to think differently.

“A must-have resource for anyone looking to get control of their thoughts.”—Lysa TerKeurst, #1 New York Times best-selling author and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries

Are your thoughts holding you captive? I’ll never be good enough. Other people have better lives than I do. God couldn’t really love me. Jennie Allen knows what it’s like to swirl in a spiral of destructive thoughts, but she also knows we don’t have to stay stuck in toxic thinking patterns.

As she discovered in her own life, God built a way for us to escape that downward spiral. Freedom comes when we refuse to be victims to our thoughts and realize we have already been equipped with power from God to fight and win the war for our minds.

In Get Out of Your Head, Jennie inspires and equips us to transform our emotions, our outlook, and even our circumstances by taking control of our thoughts. Our enemy is determined to get in our heads to make us feel helpless, overwhelmed, and incapable of making a difference for the kingdom of God. But when we submit our minds to Christ, the promises and goodness of God flood our lives in remarkable ways.

It starts in your head. And from there, the possibilities are endless.
