Quba Castle — A Quiet Witness to Madinah’s History

Not far from the blessed surroundings of Quba lies a historic landmark that quietly reflects the rich heritage of Madinah — Quba Castle (Qasr Quba).

Built in the historic Quba area, the castle is associated with the old defensive architecture of Madinah, when fortified structures played an important role in protecting communities and settlements.

Unlike the grand scale of today’s Madinah, the area around Quba once featured traditional homes, farms, wells, and defensive structures. These remnants offer a glimpse into how life and security were organized in earlier centuries.

Behind Every Prayer, There Is Care. 🕌

Have you ever wondered how the carpets of Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid An-Nabawi are kept clean and ready for millions of worshippers?

The carpets in the Two Holy Mosques receive continuous care — from sweeping and washing to sterilization, drying and perfuming.

At Masjid Al-Haram, more than 35,000 carpets are maintained across around 150 locations, with regular cleaning, sanitation and inspection to ensure they remain comfortable and safe for worshippers.

At Masjid An-Nabawi, more than 25,000 carpets are cared for, with carpets regularly cleaned, sterilized and perfumed. Each carpet is also equipped with an RFID chip, allowing its location and cleaning history to be tracked digitally.

The cleaning process is remarkably detailed. At the dedicated carpet laundry, carpets go through multiple stages including dust removal, washing, sterilization, drying, sweeping and perfuming before returning to the mosque.

It is a quiet but important part of the immense service provided to the guests of Allah — ensuring that every worshipper can pray in an environment of cleanliness, comfort and tranquility.

A Voice That Called Millions to Prayer…

Some voices become more than just voices.

They become part of a memory.

For many Muslims around the world, the adhan of Shaykh Ibrahim bin Adel Hamzah Al-Madani was one of those voices — a voice heard from Masjid al-Haram, calling believers toward salah.

Born in Madinah, Shaykh Ibrahim began giving the adhan at just 15 years old. Years later, he was honoured to serve as one of the mu’adhdhins of Masjid al-Haram, beginning his service there during Ramadan in 1439H (2018).

He carried with him the beautiful tradition of the Madinah adhan, while also learning the style of the callers to prayer in Makkah.

Today, that familiar voice has fallen silent.

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

May Allah forgive Shaykh Ibrahim Al-Madani, accept every adhan he called, every prayer he witnessed, and every heart that was reminded of Allah through his voice.

May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and reunite him with the righteous.

اللهم اغفر له وارحمه وأسكنه فسيح جناتك. آمين.

His voice may no longer rise from the Haram…

But the memory of that call will remain in the hearts of millions.

A small mosque… with a history far greater than its size.

In the land of Badr stands Masjid Al-Arish — a place connected to one of the most defining moments in Islamic history.

Before the Battle of Badr began, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ spent time in an ‘Arish’ — a small shelter or command post that had been prepared for him.

From there, he turned to Allah.

He ﷺ raised his hands in dua, pleading with Allah for His promised help.

The Prophet ﷺ continued making dua with such humility and persistence that Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه reassured him:

“Allah will fulfill His promise to you.”

Then came the moment that changed history.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى answered:

«“When you sought help from your Lord, He answered you…”
— Qur’an 8:9»

Today, Masjid Al-Arish stands as a reminder of that moment.

Not of military strength.

Not of numbers.

But of dua, reliance upon Allah, and absolute trust in Him.

Sometimes, the greatest victories begin with a person standing before Allah…
with nothing but hope in His help.

Badr was not won by numbers.
It began with dua.

There’s something different about Fajr in Madinah… 🤍

The Adhan breaks the silence of the night.

The streets are still quiet.
The lights are glowing.
And people slowly walk towards Masjid an-Nabawi ﷺ.

Some walk alone.
Some hold their parents’ hands.
Some have waited years just to walk these streets.

Then the prayer begins…

And for a few moments, it feels like the whole world has stopped.

Standing in front of Masjid an-Nabawi ﷺ, one thought quietly crosses the heart:

“Ya Allah… please don’t let this be my last Fajr in Madinah.” 🤍

Jummah is here… 🕌

A day that comes every week,
yet somehow, we keep forgetting how special it is.

Take a shower.
Wear your best clothes.
Send plenty of Durood upon the Prophet ﷺ.
Make Dhikr.
Read Surah Al-Kahf.
Give Sadaqah, even if it is small.

And somewhere between all of that…
make a sincere Dua.

For the things you speak about.
For the things you keep hidden.
For the people you love.
And for the things only Allah knows.

May Allah accept our deeds, forgive our shortcomings, and bless our Ummah. Ameen. 🤲

The red carpet of Makkah… have you ever wondered where it went?

If you look at old photographs of Masjid al-Haram, you’ll notice something different.

The floors around the Kaaba were once covered with red carpets.

For years, millions of pilgrims walked across them while performing Tawaf, praying, and making their way through the Haram.

But visit Makkah today, and you won’t see those red carpets anymore.

So what happened?

During the major renovation and development of Masjid al-Haram, the traditional red carpets were gradually replaced with green carpets and other updated flooring arrangements.

By the mid-2010s, the familiar red had largely disappeared from the Haram.

And today, those old photographs offer a glimpse of a Makkah that many younger pilgrims have never seen.

It’s strange when you think about it…

Millions of footsteps once passed over those red carpets.

People who came with tears in their eyes.
People who made du'a for years to reach Makkah.
People who saw the Kaaba for the very first time.

The carpet was eventually replaced.

The buildings changed.
The surroundings changed.
The Haram continued to grow.

But the memories remained.

The red carpet of Makkah is no longer there…
but it remains a beautiful little piece of Haram history. ❤️

What if I told you that every step between Safa and Marwah carries the memory of a mother’s desperation?

Hajar (AS) was alone in the desert.

Her infant son, Ismail (AS), was thirsty.
There was no water in sight.
No people.
No help.

So she ran.

From Safa to Marwah.
Then back again.

Seven times.

A mother searching for just one thing—
water for her child.

And then Allah answered her struggle with Zamzam.

Today, millions of Muslims walk between Safa and Marwah during Umrah and Hajj.

What once looked like a mother’s desperate search
became an act of worship for generations to come.

Sometimes, Safa and Marwah reminds us of something simple:

You may not see the answer yet.
But keep moving.
Keep making dua.
Keep trusting Allah.

Because you never know which step might be the one
before your Zamzam moment. 🤍

🌧️ Madinah is raining… and hearts are longing. 🤍

There is something different about rain in Madinah Al-Munawwarah.

The streets become quiet.
The air feels softer.
And somehow, the heart feels closer to Allah.

As rain falls around the city of the Prophet ﷺ, millions of hearts around the world are making the same silent dua:

“Ya Allah, invite me to Madinah.” 🤲🏻

Maybe you're watching this from thousands of miles away.
Maybe you have been there before.
Maybe you're still waiting for your first visit.

Wherever you are, take a moment.

Look at the rain.
Make your dua.
And never stop hoping.
