🇬🇧 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢 — Worst in the world for Bangladeshis
This is the most striking finding. Bangladesh has the lowest visitor visa grant rate of any major nationality applying for UK visas — just 48%, meaning more than half of all applications are refused. In the year ending September 2025, 39,733 Bangladeshi nationals applied for UK visitor visas, and only 20,034 were granted (𝘿𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙮). For comparison, the global average visitor visa grant rate is 79%, while even other countries considered higher-risk — Ghana at 57%, Pakistan at 58%, Nigeria at 61% — all fare significantly better than Bangladesh. So visas are still being issued, but the odds are very unfavourable.

Canada's enhanced "𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚" initiative, launched in summer 2024, specifically called out Bangladesh (along with India and Nigeria) 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒂 𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒆, 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. By January 2025, applications from Bangladesh had dropped 40% compared to the previous year. Overall, Canada refused approximately 1.95 million visitor visa applications in 2024, representing a 54% rejection rate across all temporary residents. Bangladeshi applicants face some of the toughest scrutiny within this already difficult environment.

Australia is comparatively the most accessible of these four for Bangladeshis. Education advisors in Bangladesh often describe Australia as a visa-friendly but quality-conscious destination — if your academic profile, English scores, and finances are solid, your chances are generally good. However, Australia has also been implementing stricter conditions in recent periods, and vocational sectors remain tight. No blanket suspension has been applied to Bangladeshi tourist applicants, making it the best bet among these four countries.

𝔹𝕠𝕥𝕥𝕠𝕞 𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕖: Of these four, Australia is currently the most accessible for Bangladeshi tourists with strong documentation. The UK is statistically the hardest — with a worse refusal rate for Bangladeshis than almost any other nationality globally. Canada has drastically tightened its screening and specifically flagged Bangladesh as a high-risk source country. New Zealand sits in a similar cautious position, though it receives far fewer Bangladeshi applicants overall.
