Haque & Sons Ltd. was privileged to support the International Seminar on the Day of the Seafarer 2026, convened by the Bangladesh Maritime Law Society (BMLS) on 25 June at Hotel Agrabad, Chattogram.

The symposium assembled over 200 maritime professionals, active seafarers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers to honor the vital contributions of seafaring personnel, while deliberating on the protection of their rights, overall welfare, and the strategic trajectory of Bangladesh’s maritime sector.

International Maritime Academy Commemorates the Day of the Seafarer 2026

The International Maritime Academy proudly observed the Day of the Seafarer 2026 with profound respect and enthusiasm.

The day’s proceedings commenced with a ceremonial rally, followed by a special commemorative program in the Academy auditorium. Addressing the gathering, the Commandant delivered an inspiring keynote speech that underscored the indispensable role of seafarers in sustaining global trade, while commending their enduring dedication and professionalism.

The event brought together academy cadets, faculty members, staff, and their families, fostering a shared sense of maritime pride.

The Academy extends its deepest gratitude to seafarers worldwide for their steadfast commitment to global service. We wish them safe voyages and fair winds.

It was a distinct honour to attend the World Seafarers Day 2026 celebrations at the Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chattogram, today, 25 June, in my capacity as Managing Director of Haque & Sons Ltd.

Graced by the Honourable Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping as the Chief Guest, the event brought together key representatives from ship-owning companies, manning agencies, academy officials, and maritime professionals. The occasion served as a vital platform to recognize the indispensable contributions seafarers make to global trade.

It was deeply inspiring to witness the collective commitment of all stakeholders toward the continued advancement of Bangladesh’s maritime sector. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Bangladesh Marine Academy and special thanks to the commandant for organizing such a meaningful event and uniting our maritime community on this special day.
