From cement to lumber and cars, BPI staff are kept busy moving cargo from ship to shore.

Between January and June of this year more than 600,000 tonnes of cargo were handled here at the Port of Bridgetown.

It’s the first day of school and we’re sending best wishes to all the students. A special shout out to the young members of our BPI family who are making the transition to secondary school today. Last month we hosted a group of them for a special presentation as they got ready for the next step in their academic journeys.

Our team members are always upgrading their skills.

The security team has been busy over the summer.

Teams bolstered their skills through training programmes in new security monitoring technology and scanning. The training was conducted by a team of regional and international instructors.

Eleven of our senior security officers went a step further and are now better equipped to support their colleagues, having completed a train-the-trainer programme. They are now proficient in new approaches to teaching, programme design and presentation styles. The group is already actively involved in supporting the on-boarding of new officers and other in-house training sessions.

In addition to improving their technical skills, some of our team also took to the water alongside in a friendly open water swim.
