The Great Southern Rail Trail, Alberton to Welshpool section, is set to officially open and to celebrate...we have a Jamis bike to give away!

Friday, August 16, is the official opening of The Great Southern Rail Trail, Alberton to Welshpool, and you're invited! Details as follows:

WHEN: Friday 16 August.
TIME: 2.00pm.
WHERE: Great Southern Rail Trail - Gellion Street, Alberton, at the first bridge crossing.

But! Before the opening, we are inviting you to join us for a casual bike ride from Yarram to Alberton and to enter the draw to win a very cool Jamis bike.

The ride will start at the Goods Shed at Yarram Tarra Trail Reserve and conclude at Gellion Street in Alberton, where the official opening will take place. Head off anytime between 1pm and 1:30pm. The bike ride is expected to take between 30 and 40 minutes and is open to all members of the public.

To enter the comp, you just need to stop along the trail between Yarram and Alberton at The Middle of Everywhere marquee, grab some jellybeans, and put your name in the draw - super easy!

We are so excited for this opening and hope to see you there 🧡🧡

The Alberton to Welshpool Connection of the GSRT is now complete. Our E-bikes make this journey easy. Enjoy the rich pastural land of south Gippsland with the tree and hedge lined rail trail.
E-bikes and E-Trikes available for hire.
Gippy Bikes is a Yarram Neighbourhood House initiative.
Ts and C’s apply (over 18 years old). I/2 and full day hire available. Bookings are essential.

It's with regret and disappointment that we report that 2 of our Ebikes were stolen from our holding shed on Monday 4th @ 6:00am. They are dark grey espresso 300 SE bikes. While we are working to replace these bikes, any leads or information would be greatly appreciated. We hope to be up and riding again soon.
