Finally we are home. So good to be here and see the fam, even if one has blue hair.
From the healthy Herefords of Victoria to the beautiful Brahmans of Queensland, the vineyards of South Australia to the cotton and sugar of Queensland, the lousy roads of NSW, there really is no place like home.
We agreed today that the highlights of the trip were not the sights and scenes, but the family we visited. Thank you Deb, Matt, Jason Lise. Paul, Jo, Dave, Annie and Judie and what a beautiful family we have.
It was great chatting to like minded campers and learning and sharing information.
6500 km round trip and we really have only touched a little of this huge country.
A little bonus today was a detour to Bjelke Peterson dam. What a gorgeous spot, and had a perfect camping ground... Might have to try it out, BUT not for a while
To help keep the driver awake, I made up games like give him a word and he had to sing a song with that word in it. Then it was his turn.
Will we miss the singing?
Jury is out.
Give him a lolly and get him to guess the colour. He cheated every time.
Eye spy... Etc...
He drove well, I only screamed once!
Sharing a tiny caravan, trying to put your un**es on without knocking the other over, circling each other while making a cuppa.... Oh boy, Our house looked enormous when we got home!
56 pairs of un**es on the line, 😂 this one is having an early night and not to be any more disturbed than she is for a week!

And they still havent put the W and A on....

Just a mere 337 km today on our journey. This writer is getting very tired. The driver felt it today too. It will be good to get home.
We are at a lovely caravan park in Dalby, however nothing open here today as its show day.
Went through Goondiwindi and brought a set of bolt cutters, as between us this time, the van keys really were locked inside the van.
Padlocks removed, replaced and we are all good.
Amazing to see the vastness of the cotton farms. My photos really don't do it justice

Today's ugly.... I heard on the news the mice infestation of last year is returning to NSW.
Can't wait to cross the border into QueeNZland

Wednesday, we left Bogan Shire, over the Bogan river past Big Bogan (😂) and carried on our journey. Stopped in Wee Waa for a wee while and a wee and carried on to Moree where we are staying the night. Lots of cotton growing out this way, and I guess the herd of cattle haven't heard of fences as they just wander the long mile freely.
Loads of road kill along the way, fortunately for the vehicles no cattle.
We are gearing up for a thermal swim tonight. Yay.
We will probably run out of gas and money by the time we get to Tiaro, so will walk from there, whenever we get that far...

Oh, I nearly forgot today's ugly which I filmed til I dropped the phone in fright. Don't worry, I'm not sending it to Channel 7 news.

Wednesday, we left the Broken Hill resort with a trip of 450k ahead of us to Cobar. I kept looking at the railway line and imagining the trip on the Ghan.
It was joyous to see we had a mere few kms to go to get to Cobar, but as we arrived, we decided to carry on to Nyngan as we were feeling fresh. Seeing the sun and it being 28 degrees was a bonus.
Just another 130k on and we land in..... Wait for it.... Bogan Shire! Lol.....
Windy AF here and I'm frightened about the big tree next to us.
On the bright side we do have internet!

Tuesday, a seemingly massive drive from Exeter to Broken Hill. Great roads but oh such boring scenery. We went through Burra but not Peterborough, Yunta (giggle giggle snort) himself not moaning about all the driving at all.
I was watching the GPS and cheered everytime we went down another 100k....
