Thank you so much for the support, it is really appreciated. Freight is doing it tough at the moment, and your words make a difference.
THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN FU***NG WHINGE — PART 3
Remember when Australians used to roll up their sleeves, solve problems and get on with the fu***ng job? Well, apparently some of us still do. Meet VCF Transport Services.
These blokes just hauled 22 pallets of pharmaceutical freight, around 18 tonnes, on a 125km round trip through Victoria.
Battery used? 30%.Diesel used? Zero.Whinging? Also ZERO.
And before someone starts carrying on about how an electric truck can’t drive from Sydney to Perth, here’s a little lesson. Only a fu***ng idiot uses a hammer to drive in a screw. Different tools do different jobs. Not every truck needs to cross the Nullarbor. Not every truck needs an 800km range.
Australian articulated trucks average roughly 240–336km a day, according to ABS data. The DeepWay Star has an advertised range of up to 500km, while Tesla’s long-range Semi is rated for up to 805km.
Nobody’s suggesting every diesel truck can be replaced tomorrow. We’re talking about using the right truck for the right job. And every delivery we can make without diesel is one less delivery exposed to volatile global oil prices.
This is the Australia I remember growing up in.
People didn’t spend their lives whinging and complaining about why things couldn’t be done. They just rolled up their sleeves and fu***ng did it.
And here’s a bit more bad news for you fu***ng whingers.
Another Australian company, New Energy Transport, is developing electric heavy freight routes connecting Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra. They’ve already completed an electric freight delivery from Sydney to Canberra, and they’re developing a depot at Wilton designed to support 50 heavy electric trucks initially.
That’s two Australian transport companies getting on with the job while others are still arguing about whether it’s possible.
