🥝🇳🇿🇳🇿 NZ REOPENS TO AUSTRALIAN TOURISTS FROM 12 APRIL
Quarantine-free New Zealand entry for vaccinated Australians in April, with visitors from other countries to be added from 01 May.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has just announced that fully vaccinated Australian travellers will be able to enter the country without quarantine from 12 April.

The reopening had previously been flagged for sometime in July, but Ardern said that after evaluating the country's response to the Omicron wave of COVID-19 "we are ready to welcome the world back".

Visitors from other countries which have visa waiver arrangements with New Zealand will be able to enter without quarantine or isolation requirements from 01 May.

The revised reopening will allow Australians to cross the Tasman for the upcoming school holiday period, with the move also set to provide a major boost for the NZ ski sector.

🛳 🛳 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FINALLY GREENLIGHTS CRUISE
Battered cruise sector rejoices at confirmation of return date.
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has confirmed that the Australian cruise sector can reboot from 17 April after more than two years of shutdown.

“On the basis of medical advice and with the agreement of National Cabinet, lifting the cruise ban is consistent with the reopening of Australia’s international border and shows that we have successfully navigated Australia’s emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic," Hunt said earlier today.

To ensure the safe return of cruising, additional measures will need to be met, including enhanced pre-arrival reporting and identification of COVID-19 risk through more passenger questioning, stress testing of the emergency response system in relation to cruises, engaging more with the cruise industry, and mandating that all passengers be double vaccinated.
