Travel in our beautifully restored 100-year-old Davidson timber railway carriages, hauled by a heritage locomotive, and enjoy the sights, sounds and excitement of a classic country train journey.

🚆 FREE Rail Industry Training Opportunity in Warwick
Starting 22nd June to 24th July (full time course)

Southern Downs Steam Railway Association Inc. is proud to once again partner with Energy Skills Queensland to support the delivery of the Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure — Trackworker training program here in Warwick.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to enter the rail industry, gain practical skills and build a pathway toward future employment in a sector where good rail workers are always needed.

The course will be delivered at the Warwick Railway Precinct, using SDSR’s heritage rail environment for both theory and practical training.

This is the third course SDSR has supported, and we strongly encourage anyone interested in working in rail infrastructure, track work, rail maintenance or related industry roles to register and take part.

✅ The course includes:

• PPE supplied
• Safely Access the Rail Corridor training
• Working in Electrified Territory
• White Card
• Rail Industry Worker Card
• Category 3 Medical, including drug and alcohol screening
• 9 weeks full-time, fee-free training and practical experience
• Ongoing support and mentoring
• Networking with industry professionals and potential employers

This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. Eligibility criteria apply.
