Easter Monday is a day that I would gladly forget.
On the way to a booking my gorgeous bow top wagon departed company with the trailer and is now destroyed.
I am heartbroken, as I have had this wagon for nearly 20 years and it is main horse drawn wagon in my stable. It had many improvements and modifications to make it safe and functional as a commercial people mover.
It has been a struggle throughout the years to keep Colonial Clydesdales going due to many factors such as the cost of running the horses, finding suitable horses, finding farriers, insurance and the cost, training horses and doing much of this while a single
Mum and undergoing other stuff personally.
However, the enjoyment that I get out of the horses and the enjoyment that people get by having a ride with the Clydesdales, a pat, cuddle or a photo and sharing the increasing rarity of a working Clydesdale keeps me going.
I love these horses and they are my life. The circumstances under which this has happened has left me heartbroken and I have been left to carry on and pick up the pieces alone.
Thank you to the people that had heard about the accident and reached out. To those who have offered to help find a replacement wagon or a loan thank you.
โค๏ธ To the organisers and sponsors of the event that I was unable to attend thank you for your understanding and support.
I am thankful that no horses or people were hurt.
The guardian angel must have been somewhat looking out.
After spending a day or so crying and feeling numb and wondering where to from here, I will reset and find away forward. Please rest assured that if you have an upcoming booking then I will be honouring it. I am
working with someone quite talented that can hopefully rebuild her.
If you please could spread the word or know of a wagon that is in good condition, for a pair of Clydesdales that can be used straight away, I would appreciate any leads. Iโve popped up a photo of the wagon prior the accident for reference.
On another note. We were not involved in the accident on the Easter weekend at Moora. I have had a few messages of concern. We were there but at another part of the event.
My heartfelt condolences goes out to the people involved and the person that lost his beloved horses.
It was a terrible weekend all round but thankfully my horses are safe and no one was hurt.
