📦 Carefully packed. Precisely graded. Quality you can trust. 🥚

On our grading floor, every egg is handled with accuracy and attention to detail before it reaches the shelf.

One of our key free range lines is packed into our trusted Valley Brook cartons, and what’s important to know is that these eggs come in a full range of sizes from smaller grades right through to larger eggs. All carefully sorted and packed to ensure consistency in every carton.

This isn’t just packaging… it’s a process built on:
✔️ Accurate grading by weight
✔️ Clear separation of production systems (free range, cage, etc.)
✔️ Strict quality control at every step
✔️ Reliable presentation for customers and retailers

From the grading floor to the carton, every detail matters.

Because quality doesn’t happen by accident, it’s packed in 🐓💛

🚨 Early morning excitement on the farm! 🚨

This morning Farm Manager Brad and Assistant Manager Nathan got up bright and early at 1am to collect our newest little darlings that touched down in Tassie, travelling safely via a Virgin Australia cargo flight ✈️🐣

Just one day old, these chicks made their journey through the skies before being carefully collected at the airport by truck. From the runway to the farm, every step handled with care ❤️

The photos say it all:
📦 A special delivery on the move
🚛 The truck arriving at the airport to collect our precious cargo
⚠️ “HANDLE WITH CARE” — and we truly mean it

There’s something pretty incredible about seeing life begin like this… tiny, fragile, and already on an amazing journey before they’ve even reached the farm.

Welcome to the farm, little ones 🐥💛

First frost of the season settled over the farm Monday morning, turning paddocks silver under the early light.

In the quiet before the day fully began, you can still see the footprints of early morning checks out across the grounds ensuring the farm is safe and settled through the cold snap.

It’s these small, unseen moments that shape life on the farm; early starts, cold air, and care that doesn’t pause for the weather.

Getting to the final stages of our Farm to Fridge series

Egg stamping is an important part of our food safety and quality assurance process. It involves applying identifying information directly onto each eggshell using food-safe ink.

This process supports food safety, traceability, regulatory compliance, and helps build consumer confidence in every egg we produce.

You will know that you have a Pure Foods egg when you see our identification mark a simple “PFE” stamped in red ink.

Prior to distribution, each carton is also labelled with a best before date sticker. These labels include key traceability information such as the flock that laid the eggs, the packing lane used, and the exact time, day, and month of packaging. This ensures we have all the necessary information to trace each product back to its original source when required.

🥚 Farm to Fridge Series - Weight & Size Classification

This week we’re taking you behind the scenes of one of the final steps before packing; weight and size classification.

Every egg is individually weighed ⚖️ and sorted into precise weight categories. This ensures each egg is packed into the correct carton, so customers receive exactly the size they’re paying for.

It’s a simple but essential step that ensures consistency, accuracy and trust across all our free-range egg cartons 🥚.

It’s particularly important within our Valley Brook range, given its broad variety of pack sizes and weight classes, ensuring every carton meets the same high standard from farm to fridge 🚜➡️🧊
