We are on the hunt for a qualified Fit out Technician to join our team building some of the most impressive boats coming out of Australia.

You will be undertaking a range of work including new boat builds from 5-15m, mods and repairs, boat trailers, survey requirements and more. Or perhaps this role will broaden your already existing skillset in this area. Learn from the best.

Experience in all marine 12v DC systems and marine electronics necessary. Knowledge of outboard rigging and hydraulic steering preferred.
Ability to engage in procurement and management of standard part with in the fit out bay of the factory is included in this role.

Custom Works NT is the leading Aluminium Boat builder in Northern Australia and we are looking for an Apprentice to undertake a Certificate III in Engineering— Fabrication Trade from Charles Darwin University.
Custom Works pride themselves on teamwork, industry leading innovation and an ability to provide clients with fit for purpose vessel’s that perform beyond their expectations.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of works including:
- Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel Welding
- Operate cutting and forming machinery
- Operate CNC machinery
- Aluminium Boat and Trailer building
- General Fabrication
- Work within a close team of experienced Fabricators

What we’re looking for in a candidate:
- Interest in the Marine Industry and the Fabrication Trade
- Good communication skills and Teamwork
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Reliability and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills

Earlier this year we delivered another brand new vessel down to the team at Nitmiluk Tours . The Flying Fox is the third vessel in as many years that Custom Works has purpose built for operation in Katherine Gorge. Being 15m Long and 4.5m wide this vessel can carry up to 70 people and has a full size domestic toilet on board. As always the team at WRSC Transport Darwin and AM Cranes & Rigging delivered the vessel in perfect condition and right on time.

Back to our roots with this Ranger vessel. The Custom Works Cuddy Cabin first featured way back in 2011 on the very first 7.6m Eliminator, and has been a much-loved design ever since. With ample shade and airflow as well as roll down clears to create an enclosed cabin, it really is the perfect NT offshore rig. This new 2C Surveyed vessel will be an essential tool for the Sea Rangers at Mabunji Aboriginal Resources, and will no doubt feel at home in the coastal conditions in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

The Anindilyakwa Land and Sea Rangers were in need of an ocean going landing craft to perform a number of activities for their Team. With several tonnes of marine debris collected around the Groote Archipelago every year the 8.6m Catamaran Landing Craft was a perfect choice. The ability to load a side by side for remote beach access and a deck winch for ghost net removal make this vessel an essential part of their fleet.
