𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
Mechanic

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆?
Mechanic for 10 years, marine mechanic for 3.5 years.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀?
Love the fact that one day you could be working on an old timber boat and the next day a multimillion-dollar powerboat, and a good variety of jobs, and probably most of all, the job satisfaction that comes with every job.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸?
I would say the most common is damage prevention work, as getting something fixed or replaced, from the mechanic’s point of view, may or may not last until the next time the boat is worked on.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻?
I really enjoy being a part of vessels that are getting a big overhaul or restoration, as this comes with a lot of job satisfaction.

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱?
Still to this day would be the Halvorsen job from start to finish, and nice when you’re seeing it pottering around the harbour.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗽 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?
To be able to check all fluid levels and to be able to know whether the quality of that fluid is good or not.

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿?
For aesthetics, I’d say around Circular Quay.

𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂?
I've done 4 bungee jumps in the past, and I'm really looking forward to my next one.
