👣Information for Walk to the Reef 2026. Please read the below and keep the following in mind if you are planning to take the walk. 🪸🐚

This is a Free Self-Guided tour, we do not offer a tour, nor do you need to make a booking with us. The following is for your safety, we urge you to take precautions, be safe, and be respectful to your surrounds.

🛑 Before you start your planning, you need beautiful blue skies and clear water to enjoy the day. Please do not attempt this if we have had rain as the fresh water will make visibility harder. 🌞

📍Where: Leave from the top boat ramp, it's a good 800 meters out to the reef. Please allow around 30 - 45 mins to do this.

📅When: The dates written below, are the only days where Walking to the Reef has the lowest tides. The times written are of when LOW tide is. This is when you have finished your walk and time to head back to the shore. Please do not attempt this walk outside of the dates and times.

You may walk in water (depending on the tide of the day and time) up to thigh deep. 🪼 A stinger suit or long clothing is advised. Good reef shoes is a must, with a waterproof bag for all your belongings, including your mobile phone, water bottle and sunscreen. Don't forget your hat!

We have many critters that are tempting to pick up and hold, we strongly advise you to look but not touch. 🐚 Cone shells are very pretty but are poisonous. The large red and pink starfish will be seen on your walk out, but not as many on the turning tide. 🦀 These are alive creatures and should be treated with care.

Plan your trip, allow time to walk out, time to explore and leave on the low tide times written below. The tide turns fast, and you need to be heading back to shore. Make sure you are not the last person/s out on the reef and follow the crowd if you are unsure. 🐟
This is very important... Please do not do anything that will hurt our reef. Pay attention to where you are walking and stepping on. Watch out for live coral and specimens.

🌴 Lastly, enjoy your day visiting Kurrimine Beach and all we have to offer. Stay Safe, Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints. 🌴

You'll find Nestled in the rainforest 🌴🦋 along the Tully River. You can find this lush spot by following the river downstream by car 🚘🗺 from Cardstone Weir and look out for the number 11 painted on the road. 😉
