Visit this must see attraction while visiting Darwin.

Dive in watch the Crocodile surround you. It really does get as close as the picture on the site suggests. Just to see them in the flesh though and watch the show are great parts of the standard entry.

You may also get a chance to feed and hold other reptiles.

Crocosaurus Cove, located in the heart of Darwin city, allows visitors a unique, up close and personal view of Australia’s iconic Saltwater Crocodiles. Bringing together some of the largest Saltwater Crocodiles in Australia & boasting the World’s largest display of Australian reptiles, Crocosaur...

December 2019 saw me visit the magic of Byron Bay in New South Wales on my way down the East Coast of Australia.

The lighthouse is definitely the golden spot and the walk from central Byron up and around the circuit via Byron Bay main Beach either on the way or way back is a must do!

Make sure while visiting Rotorua you check this out!
https://www.skylineluge.com/en/rotorua/

I visited in February of 2020 and this is definitely the one to choose. 3 tracks and if you use bookme in advance discounts can be had.

There is usually a discounted Night deal too.

There is a nice cafe up there too and the view is not half bad either.

Take a thrilling ride on the world's first luge track! You're in control, take on the sweeping bends through the Redwoods Forest, overlooking the city of Rotorua

Look for a cheap way to travel your way down the coast in Australia? Or maybe you want a vehicle to serve you well for a few days over the Great Ocean Road?

I'd recommend
https://www.imoova.com/imoova/relocations

Choose from various start and end locations. Add extra days on if you need to. I hired a motorhome from Britz for the Great Ocean Road and it was great. A sense of freedom, your own space and cruise in your own time.

October in The Northern Territory Australia. I went on the Wetland Cruise Crocodile spotting. Then off to Jim Jim Falls for some caving, beach and relax time around Jim Jim Creek.
See the impressive mirror image of the falls river and orange cliff tops.

October 2019 sees me hit Alma Bay of Magnetic Island. An island in Queensland just off of Townville by ferry.
This is one of my favorite spots there and well worth the time to stop and enjoy. Crystal blue waters and rock to sit on and admire the bay below the hill tops!

For your Magnetic Island Accommodation, choose no other than YHA/Bungalow Bay Hostel. A short bus ride from the ferry terminal for a few dollars will drop you outside and then you have a pool, hammocks, a well stocked bar and a Koala Sanctuary to take advantage of. The rooms are of decent value and many provide included showers. Beanbags are also a plenty to chill back and relax. The Forts Walk is within distance and Horseshoe Bay Beach 5 minutes walk down the road. An Absolute must see island not to miss and the Greyhound Bus if that is your mode of transport will drop you outside the Sealink Terminal too.

Stay at our Magnetic Island YHA, an award-winning hostel: a backpackers paradise! All transport services to Magnetic Island depart from Townsville.

Moody day at Milford Sound with waterfall flowing from every corner. I visited this South Island location of New Zealand in March 2020 using: https://www.goorange.co.nz/en/experiences/go-cruise/milford-sound-cruise/

My personal bit of advice is to book your tour separately on a day of your choice and not choose it to be included in a tour package. I personally would not use a tour package for New Zealand in general.

https://cairnsbicyclehire.com.au/a/Bicycle-Hire

If you find yourself in Cairns without a car why not look at this option. Great team and service and a multi speed bike hire for $25 for 24 hours. Just lock it up at your nearby choice of accommodation overnight.

From CAIRNS
Take yourself to Crystal Cascades in under 1hr 30 mins
Stoney Creek in the Barron Gorge is around 1hr

Holloways Beach can be reached in around 50 mins, it's not but used for dog walking a lot due to being quieter.
Further afield beaches like Trinity, Clifton and Palm Cove could take 1hr 30 - 1hr 45. Clifton and Palm Cove would be my choices.

See Cairns Scooter and Bicycle Hire for more info on Hiring and renting bikes!

An Englishman’s Australian & New Zealand Journey

Firstly hello to all.

I have recently returned back for a six months journey of travelling through both Australia and New Zealand exploring what both countries had to offer. For many years Australia was always somewhere in my thoughts to visit but I did not have the courage to go through with it largely to anxiety which I suffer regularly. I would see other friends of mine take the option to visit this area of the world and one day I decided it was the right thing for me to do. One day I am looking at a flight opportunity, something in that moment feels right, and so I booked it. I left my job and career behind in a we only have one chance to live our life’s so go for it.

I can say when I arrived at the airport on the day of travel I was not prepared to spend six months travelling away from home and I fully believe it is something you cannot prepare for now. I had around seven to ten days booked in hostel accommodation to get me through the first part and after than it was all a case of go with the flow, trial and error.

I encountered many challenges in the time I traveled. I feel to have found it all plain sailing was unlikely but all definitely apart of the experience. We can all only learn from what did and did not go right from these moments ourselves. What I now would like the opportunity to do is use the experience I have gained to help future like minded travelers or people in general that have considered a trip like this before, but cannot see themselves doing so or have found it too much of a challenge to do for so long..
