Mort & Co was re-established in 1997 by Charlie Mort following the earlier registration of the company by his relative, Thomas Sutcliffe Mort, in 1843. Since its relaunch, the business has grown to become one of the largest and most experienced managers of lot fed cattle in Australia, and a leading exporter of premium Australian beef. Operating an integrated vertical supply chain model, Mort & Co
produces quality Australian beef through the careful control of each aspect of the business, which currently includes cattle procurement, backgrounding, transportation, farming, lot feeding, beef processing and marketing. Currently, Mort & Co own two feedlots which have a combined capacity of 90,000 head (hd), turning over in excess of 215,000 cattle annually. The company continues to demonstrate an unwavering appetite for progression, maintaining a pattern of strong growth while international demand for Australian beef continues to rise.
