🏁💥 BACK TO THE BUSH – DERBY MANIA, TENTERFIELD! 💥🏁

Last weekend Mat & Soph swapped their usual horsepower for something with a lot more dents and absolutely no chance of passing a roadworthy. 😂

Both battled it out in separate events at Back to the Bush Derby Mania in Tenterfield and we’re pleased to report:

✅ Mat survived
✅ Soph survived
❌ Mat’s car… didn’t
❌ Soph’s car… definitely didn’t 🤣

🐴 Soph spends her working days pen riding on horseback, dodging cattle and reading their next move.

Turns out Derby Mania is much the same… except the other cattle have wheels and are actively trying to hit you. 😂💥

Her horse is probably watching on thinking, “And you reckon I’m hard on gear?” 🤣

Mat, on the other hand, is more accustomed to steering a road train, where you start planning a turn somewhere around three postcodes before you actually make it. 😂

So getting into a derby car must have been a revelation…

Turn the wheel and the bloody thing actually turns straight away!

No checking whether three trailers are following.
No wondering where the back axle is.
No taking half of Tenterfield to do a U-turn.

Although judging by the final condition of the car, Mat may have forgotten that being able to turn quicker doesn’t necessarily mean you SHOULD. 💥😂

Bulltranz Bulk Haulage was also proud to sponsor the event alongside some fantastic local businesses. These events simply don’t happen without local sponsors, volunteers and the community getting behind them, so it was great to play a small part in a cracking local weekend.

HANGING UP THE KEYS… WELL, WE’LL SEE ABOUT THAT! 🚛😂

After plenty of kilometres, loads, early starts, long days and probably more Bulltranz carry on than any one bloke should have to put up with, Allan is officially retiring!

But Allan has never been just an employee at Bulltranz. Somewhere along the road, he became part of the family and that’s why around here he’s simply known as POPPY AL ❤️

Poppy Al has been one of those blokes you can rely on. He’s turned up, got the job done, shared plenty of laughs and no doubt shaken his head at us more times than he’d ever admit.

We’re going to miss having him around the trucks, the shed and the everyday madness that comes with keeping Bulltranz rolling.

Although we’re not completely convinced he understands what retirement means yet… 🤔
No alarm clocks.
No loads.
No “while you’re here, Al…” jobs.
And most importantly DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN BULLTRANZ CALLS! 😂

From all of us at Bulltranz, thank you, Poppy Al, for everything you’ve given us over the years your hard work, loyalty, friendship and all the memories along the way.

You might be retiring from the job, but there’s no retiring from this family. ❤️

Looks like the Bulltranz fleet has dodged a bullet this year… 🤣

No trip to the Casino Truck Show means the polish rags can stay in the cupboard and the buffing pads can have another year off!

If we’re honest, we’re not too disappointed. Bringing these old girls back to show-pony standard would’ve taken a small miracle, a few late nights, and enough polish to keep the detailing shops in business. 😅

Instead, they’ll be doing what they do best… earning their keep as workhorses, not show ponies. Covered in a bit of honest country dust, hauling for our customers and keeping the wheels turning.

Maybe next year we’ll find enough elbow grease… but for now, we’ll leave the shiny stuff to the professionals and stick to moving freight! 🚛💨

Happy National Female Truckies Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible women who help keep Australia’s transport industry moving.

To the ladies behind the wheel, thank you for your skill, determination and the professionalism you bring to every kilometre.

But today is also for the women who keep the wheels turning in so many other ways. The dispatchers juggling schedules, the office staff answering phones and solving problems, the mechanics and workshop teams, the bookkeepers, the wives, mums, daughters and partners who support long days and late nights, and every woman working behind the scenes to make sure the trucks keep rolling.

Transport has always been built on teamwork, and the contribution of women has never been more important. Your hard work, resilience and commitment often go unseen, but it never goes unnoticed.

Sunday 31st May is the last leg of the journey and we’d love some company.

Hayley and I will be leaving 73 Sunnyside Platform Rd at 11am and walking to the golf club. If you’re keen for a stroll, a chat, or just want to witness me negotiating peace talks with my blisters, and sore legs come along.

Happy Birthday to Bulltranz Bulk Haulage’s star road train wrangler for yesterday!

After years of blood, sweat, dust,and hearing:
“Boss man… this old truck’s hotter than the hinges on hell…”

…we finally got ya a 909 with an ICE pack! ❄️😂

Not because you deserved it… mainly because we were sick of hearing the daily weather reports from inside the cab.

The young bloke reckons he’s made it now cold air on the face, arm out the window, country music up loud and driving around like the king of the highway. Meanwhile me and your father are still bouncing around in old gear held together by stone and wood and pure optimism.

You’ve become a bloody good operator and we’re proud to have you flying the Bulltranz flag. Big loads, long days and enough road train kilometres to make most blokes cry and somehow you still manage.

Have a ripper birthday mate. Try not to:
* curb the rims
* fill the fridge with energy drinks only
* an try not to kill too much wildlife
