From the 6th - 28th June, Paris’ oldest bridge, the Pont Neuf, will once again be ‘wrapped’ as an artistic installation. Titled La Caverne du Pont Neuf, a temporary artwork by French artist JR, is a tribute to artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s original creation, entitled The Pont Neuf Wrapped, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. This will be a time-limited opportunity for Parisians and visitors to experience a reimagination of Paris’ oldest bridge. The bridge has been enveloped as an inflatable giant cave
and visitors will be able to walk through a long, dark tunnel that lets in no light and where people hopefully will lose track of time. Statistics: The structure is 120 metres (393 feet) long and 18 meters (59 feet) tall – which is as high as a six-story building. It is built almost entirely from air with 80 fabric arches filled with 20,000 cubic metres of it – and weighs only about five tons. The fabric was hand stitched by 25 artisans in a village in Brittany. It seems to me you won’t miss seeing it if you are in Paris in June.

Opening towards the end of 2026, the world’s first Louis Vuitton Hotel will open at this legendary Paris address. It could only be on the Champs-Elysées.

Situated at 103 Champs-Élysées at the top end across from the Arc de Triomphe, the debut of the first-ever Louis Vuitton Hotel marks a historic expansion for the fashion house into ultra-luxury hospitality. Occupying a magnificent Haussmannian building that dates from 1898, the property is being transformed into an exclusive retreat featuring a limited collection of ultra-prime guest suites. The building’s façade has already become a global landmark, ingeniously designed to resemble the brand’s iconic Monogram trunk—a tribute to Louis Vuitton’s heritage in the “Art of Travel.” This project breathes new life into a historic site that previously served as a bank and corporate headquarters, now reimagined as the ultimate symbol of French high-end lifestyle in the heart of the capital.

The imagination, creativity and savoir-faire of the French just leaves me totally amazed. If it never opens, the trunk is simply amazing to see.

The Hôtel du Couvent in Nice is not just a hotel, it’s a 400-year-old religious site reborn as a luxury retreat, and its story is one of continuity and is unique.
Its origins date back to the early 1600s as the Couvent de la Visitation Sainte-Claire in the heart of Vieux Nice (the old town). It was first occupied by nuns who used to prepare herbal remedies which they sold in the cloister, they also baked bread on site and had gardens cultivated for medicinal and food use. The convent remained active until around the 1980s. After the nuns left, the complex fell into decades of disuse, then came the exciting transformation! It underwent a major, multi-year, multi-million dollar restoration to preserve the original architecture while adapting it to a modern hotel, with the hotel officially opening in 2024, becoming one of Nice’s most talked-about new luxury properties. What makes Hôtel du Couvent so unique is that it leans into its past instead of hiding it or eliminating it. The architecture of the hotel has preserved its cloisters, stone walls, and terraced gardens. They have transformed the convent into a 5* luxury property, using the phrase “neo-monastic” luxury. Even the rooms are named after the religious orders that once lived there. The design is minimalist with monastic interiors, making the hotel a very calm, and secluded haven, yet only steps away from the action of the old town of Nice. It very much has the feeling and stillness, of being in Provence rather than the Côte d’Azur. The goal wasn’t just to create another 5* hotel, but to preserve the “spirit of the place”, the tranquility, to give a sense of community and offer a more slower pace to guests. It’s been designed as a sanctuary in the middle of busy Nice, a place where the original convent principles still quietly shape the guest experience.
