Our partners down in Australia & New Zealand have been recently in a short tour of South East Queensland where they visited the Alberton Natural Burial Site and gave local funeral directors their first up close look at the Capsula Mundi – and the verdict was unanimous, they love it! There's more to organising a funeral that just picking between cremation, burial and what colour flowers to have. But knowing your options (and how much they cost) ahead of time will help you make the right choices.

Our story

After looking at the local funeral industry, the founders of Green Burials International could see opportunities for change by tackling head-on some of the issues the industry is currently facing.

These include the diminishing space available for burials, the environmental impact of current practices, the difficulty consumers have in comparing costs of funerals and memorial products, and the lack of death literacy and end-of-life planning knowledge.

We look to transform the industry by encouraging the establishment of living, green memorials that use 100% biodegradable products and offer beautiful, personal experiences.

Along the way, we see a crucial part of our work as being part of the 'death-positive' movement - encouraging people to talk about and accept death as a normal and natural part of life.
