“I’d rather regret something I did than regret something I didn’t do.” – Paula

That was one of the biggest takeaways for me while creating this story.

Thank you, Paula .atelier, for trusting me enough to share your fears, your excitement and your vulnerability. So often we only see the end result, but I think the real magic is in hearing what it actually feels like to begin.

That’s exactly why I wanted to tell this story. Because when women share their experiences honestly, we realise we’re not the only ones questioning ourselves, feeling scared or wondering if it’s too late.

I hope Paula’s story reminds you that sometimes the biggest risk isn’t trying. It’s never trying at all.

What does it really look like to start again in midlife?

We often celebrate the successful business, the career change or the dream finally realised. But we rarely see what comes first, the nerves, the self doubt and the courage it takes to walk through a new door.

That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing stories like Paula’s. I hope they remind us that it’s never too late to begin again.

She handed me a cotton flower with the biggest smile.

No agenda. No expectation. Just a simple act of kindness that stayed with me long after I left.

It’s moments like these that remind me the most memorable part of travel isn’t always the places… it’s the people.

Sri Lanka has a way of slowing you down. Of inviting you into conversations over tea, welcoming you into homes, and showing you beauty in the everyday.

This November, I’ll be returning with a small group of women to experience this extraordinary country together.
