We've brought the whole DURAPLAS range to the Gold Coast, and we'd love to see you.

The Baking Industry Trade Show 2026 kicks off today, and we're set up at Stands 14 & 15 for the next three days.

Here's what's on the stand:

✅ DURAPLAS 50% Sugarcane Ethanol Bags. Sustainable, without giving up food safety.

✅ DURAPLAS Recyclable Bags.

✅ DURAPLAS Ingredient Portioning Bags. Less waste, faster prep.

✅ Custom bags, for when off-the-shelf won't fit your line.

Got a packaging headache you've been meaning to sort? Sustainability, food safety, keeping the line moving, branding, compliance. Bring it over and we'll talk it through properly.

Come say hello! We're at Stands 14 & 15.

𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺, 𝟭𝟰% 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀

A lower film price might look good on paper, but poor packaging quality can create major hidden costs on the production floor.

One bakery supplying major Australian retailers was experiencing:

✅ 14% production time lost to stoppages

✅ Excess film waste and rejected packs

✅ Registration and sealing failures

✅ Retailer complaints about presentation

✅ Supply instability from their existing converter

After transitioning to UPAC Foodcare, they reported:

✅ 68% fewer unplanned stoppages

✅ 43% reduction in film waste

✅ Improved shelf life performance

✅ Zero packaging presentation complaints

✅ Full traceability and audit readiness

The right packaging film is not just a procurement decision. It directly impacts uptime, waste, shelf life and operational efficiency.

𝗙𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗭 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗕𝗲 𝗜𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱

FSANZ coordinated 92 food recalls in 2025, above the 10-year average of 87, with undeclared allergens remaining the biggest cause at 38%.

Milk, wheat and gluten, and tree nuts topped the allergen list, while packaging and labelling errors were identified as one of the leading root causes.

The timing is critical. The Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL) stock-in-trade period ended on 26 February 2026, meaning every product now on shelf must be fully PEAL-compliant.

Three months in, the data shows the industry is still adjusting.

In many cases, recalls are not caused by major failures:

✅ A formatting detail was missed

✅ A generic allergen term is still used

✅ An outdated master artwork file

✅ Labels not re-checked against updated PEAL rules

For food manufacturers, packaging design review is no longer optional.

We are offering label audits through our Creative Studio.

💬 Comment “audit” below or send us a DM to access the offer.

Exporting to the EU and US opens big opportunities—but packaging compliance must be part of the plan from day one.

Different regulations, strict documentation, and material approvals mean your packaging needs to do more than protect your product. It must meet detailed food contact and traceability requirements across multiple markets.

Here’s what food processors need to focus on:

✅ Meet both EU and US food contact regulations
✅ Ensure full traceability and documentation
✅ Validate all packaging components—not just the main material
✅ Align packaging with actual use (temperature, product type, storage)
✅ Avoid delays by planning compliance early
