Last week we shared that Nick was named a finalist for 2026 ASCLA Transport & Logistics Excellence Award. This week, meet the man behind the nomination.

Nick is our Business Development & Customer Relations Manager. He's often the first person our customers speak to and the one they keep calling long after the first delivery. He gets to know how each business runs, finds the right solutions and makes sure every promise we make is one we keep.

His work is a big part of why our customers stick with us, and why we're so proud to see him recognised.

We're proud to share some exciting news! 🏆

Nick Cerne has been named a finalist in the 2026 ASCLA Industry Awards for the Transport & Logistics Excellence Award.

This recognition reflects Nick's hard work, leadership and the platform he helped design, build and continues to improve today. What started as an idea to replace spreadsheets, paper forms and phone calls is now a practical, high impact system connecting our office, drivers and clients from job creation through to invoicing.

The result has transformed the way we operate, making our business safer, more efficient and ready to grow. It's fantastic to see his dedication and vision recognised on a stage like this.

The winners will be announced at the awards night on Friday 23 October. Best of luck to all and congratulations on an achievement you should be incredibly proud of!

Last week on Thursday the EZI Loads Australia and Ezi Recruitment Services teams got together for morning tea for R U OK? Day.

Tea, biscuits, and half an hour of not talking about rosters or runs, just a simple catch up with colleagues and check in on one another.

It's R U OK? Day.

Some of our people spend the day alone on the road. Others spend it fielding calls, chasing loads and absorbing whoever's having a bad day at the other end of the phone.

Different jobs, same thing: it adds up, and nobody makes much noise about it.

You don't need the right words. "How are you travelling, really?" does the job — then listen properly, without rushing to fix it.

Check in on someone this week. The driver, the allocator, the person who always says they're fine.

1x C class driver

What you'll need:
✓ Current HR, HC, MC or C class licence
✓ 2+ years behind the wheel (preferred, not a dealbreaker)
✓ National Police check required
✓ You know your way around a truck — pre-starts, loads, faults
✓ Ability to work unsupervised
✓ Turn up on time, presentable and professional
✓ Looking to join our team for the long term

Great businesses are built by great people, and we're lucky to have an incredible team behind us.

Today we stepped away from the day-to-day for a team bonding day, cooking class and a bit of bowling.

It was a great chance to connect, have a few laughs, and just enjoy time together.
