🚄✨ A Disney themed Bullet Train is coming!

JR Central and Tokyo Disney Resort have announced the new “Sparkling Dreams Shinkansen” themed to the Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary “Sparkling Jubilee” celebration! The specially wrapped N700A Shinkansen will begin operating from June 19th till ~ March 2027, between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, mainly on Hikari and Kodama services.

The train features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Duffy and Shellie May in exclusive 25th anniversary outfits inspired by Tokyo DisneySea’s 8 themed ports.

Onboard features include:

- “Come Join the Jubilee” theme song
- Special headrest covers
- Exclusive table decorations

Japan’s Dog-Friendly Shinkansen “Wan Wan Express” Returns

Japan’s JR Tokai is bringing back the “Wan Wan Express”, a special dog-friendly Shinkansen to Interpets Osaka 2026. Passengers can travel with their dogs outside carriers during parts of the trip, let them sit on seats, enjoy onboard dog trainer sessions, and take commemorative photos together.

The special round-trip service runs between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka on June 20–21, 2026 for visitors attending Interpets Osaka, one of western Japan’s biggest pet expos.

• 1 owner + 1 dog: ¥47,800–¥83,300

• 2 owners + 1 dog: ¥35,800–¥63,300 per person

Doctor Yellow has officially retired, but its legacy continues！

It has been announced that the new inspection train is Doctor S, built on the latest N700S series and designed to take over the vital monitoring role once performed by Doctor Yellow. Using advanced inspection technology integrated into regular service trains, Doctor S will help monitor track and ground equipment more frequently, improving safety and preventing issues before they happen.

The new yellow "S" logo symbolises its role as the successor to Doctor Yellow, with operations set to begin from October 2026. In a meaningful tribute, aluminium from the retired Doctor Yellow will also be recycled into parts of Doctor S's body.

Fans can still visit the retired Doctor Yellow up close at the SCMAGLEV and Railway Park!

Nagoya Station is celebrating its 140th anniversary with a month-long campaign packed with exclusive experiences and events.

From April 29th to May 31st, visitors can enjoy everything from special train rides through normally restricted tracks to interactive station activities. It’s a rare chance to see a different side of one of Japan’s major transport hubs.

Highlights include commemorative trains running on May 9th and 17th, plus a walking event and behind-the-scenes station tour on April 29th, where you can explore areas usually closed to the public.

Throughout the station, you’ll find historical exhibits, decorations, and anniversary displays, along with a digital stamp rally where you can unlock trivia and win prizes. There’s even a railway goods auction featuring rare items connected to the station.

On event days, don’t miss the limited platform bento boxes, a classic Japanese rail experience.

campaign returns with a fresh theme: a journey to experience “living history” only found in Nara.
This time, it stars actor Ryohei Suzuki, bringing Nara’s culture to life through immersive, on-site experiences.
