More cockpit action for this week's update ⚓️

Another RMCC and collaboration notching out another set of recessed Vetus hatch frames for gutter installation and drainage.

Also dry fitting exhaust ducting vents to ensure smooth airflow from the main cabin engine compartment out through the transom.

Progress continues with fitting the main cabin rear windows, flush drainage deck fittings in the cockpit deck, and hardware installation around the helm base.

Every step brings us closer to final fit-out and sea trials. Stay tuned for more progress updates from RMCC.

⚓️ This Week's Update ⚓️

A week focused on preparation, refinement and getting areas ready for the next stages of fit out and finishing.

Behind the scenes, internal carbon surfaces have been sanded and painted out in preparation for cabinetry installation, helping seal and tidy areas before fit out. Great to be working alongside on this stage of the build.

We've also been fairing and blending secondary bonding tapes throughout the captain's quarters, creating smoother transitions and preparing surfaces for flow coat and fleck finish.

Up in the cockpit, fairing work continues over high build primer as we work towards final primer and paint. A big shout out to , who has been putting in plenty of work helping bring these areas up to a high standard ready for finishing.

It's often the preparation work that never gets seen, but it's what creates a quality result in the end.

Precision fit-out work underway ⚓️

Carefully fitting 4 shower drains into previously installed shower sumps beneath the bathroom soles.

When working around finished top coat surfaces, there’s no room for mistakes. Every pe*******on measured, cut and fitted mm-perfect to avoid unnecessary repairs or rework.

Final fitment ready to be sealed with Sikaflex and finished clean first go.

Quality marine fit-out work is all in the details.

First stage of the rudder assembly underway. ⚓️

Prepped and hand laminated the moulds with the outer laminate skin, built to engineering specifications and vacuum bagged down for strength and consistency.

RMCC has been working closely with and to keep the process efficient through cure times.

Next up 🔊 foam core bonding, rudder stock fitment, secondary bonding, then into the fairing stage.

Quality composite work starts long before the part comes out of the mould.

Current project progress update ⚓

Another productive push on the structural fit-out this week.

✔️ Fitted and bonded another custom drainage system into the battery locker to ensure any water is directed clear with no chance of ingress into the compartment.

✔️ Played catch-up on a number of saloon window frames that had fallen behind schedule, pushing them through fairing, primer and prep work ready for the satin black paint finish. Working closely alongside and his A-grade paintwork to keep everything moving to standard.

✔️ Also completed multiple reinforced pe*******ons through the main bulkhead, requiring additional structural strengthening and careful secondary bonding to maintain integrity around all openings.

A lot of detail work goes into these stages, but it all adds up to the final finish.

Strength where it matters.

Forward cabin bunk stairs fully glued, coved, and secondary bonded on this carbon catamaran.

Side gussets added to increase load strength and tie the structure together, built to handle real conditions, not just look the part.

Dry fitting a Lewmar hatch and installing a gutter system to control water drainage in the captain’s quarters.

⚓ Progress Update!

Wrapping up the structural assembly in the captain’s quarters of this carbon cat.
Final pe*******ons are underway to run all plumbing and wiring, locking in a clean setup so everything in the bathroom and electrical runs smooth and reliable.

Gotta keep the skipper happy… smooth systems = smooth sailing when you’re a long way from shore!

Next up, finishing the drainage around the Lewmar hatch, then onto blending out the secondary bonding tapes and tying it all together with a clean epoxy flow coat.
