Quickway is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the SP1246 Cosgroves Creek Pumping Station construction contract as part of Sydney Water’s Upper South Creek Networks Program, being delivered in partnership with CreekConnect.

This major package of work is a key component of a broader network expansion, connecting multiple gravity carrier pipelines and pressure mains across the surrounding area.

This award marks an important milestone for our team, and we are proud to contribute to Sydney Water’s ongoing investment in essential infrastructure that supports growing communities.

Construction is scheduled to commence in May 2026, with completion anticipated in late 2027.

Our scope of works includes:
• End-to-end delivery of the pumping station structure, including the inlet chamber, wet well, valve and flowmeter chambers, large manifold pit and associated infrastructure
• Permanent and temporary works design, including coordination, certification, and implementation
• Full mechanical, electrical, and control systems installation, including HV supply and Sydney Water integration
• Delivery of process and site infrastructure, including pipework, Odour Control Unit (OCU), and civil works
• Management of key interfaces with surrounding pipeline networks
• Complete testing, commissioning, and handover

Quickway is proud to partner with Sydney Water and CreekConnect to deliver this critical infrastructure project.

We look forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve a high-quality outcome that supports the region’s long-term growth.

This contract award follows on from our recently completed enabling works package for the SP1246 Pumping Station, comprising the design and construction of a 12.5 metre x 12.5 metre temporary piled shaft extending to a depth of over 16 metres. The shaft was constructed using DN900 contiguous piles in conjunction with steel bracing, ground anchors, and shotcrete to provide excavation stability.

Concurrently with the shaft construction activities, Quickway delivered a range of associated civil infrastructure works, including the construction of a 280-metre access road, installation of DN900 drainage infrastructure and culverts, construction of a new car park, and establishment of site-wide trafficable hardstand and working platforms. The scope also included the installation of perimeter security fencing and access gates.

The project also included the installation of approximately 320 metres of DN525 GRP gravity carrier pipeline, together with the construction of three DN1800 cast in-situ manholes and a large vent shaft. These works required detailed coordination across multiple disciplines to ensure successful integration with the broader pumping station infrastructure.

Upon completion of construction activities, Quickway undertook full site reinstatement and environmental rehabilitation works, including trimming, topsoiling, and revegetation of disturbed areas prior to demobilisation.

Sydney Light Rail Upgrade Possession Works

Quickway are proud to have supported the Laing O’Rourke Rail team in upgrading a 70m section of Up & Down Rail on the Sydney Light Rail between Paddy’s Market and Exhibition Centre, as well as completing 60m of embedded track renewal, including Stock Rail and Switch (S&S) Monoblock Replacement, at Circular Quay.

The scope included a fastening system upgrade across mixed formations, with Edilon Corkelast encapsulated rail for embedded sections and Gant Clip fastenings for adjoining slab track. Our rail team successfully carried out all groove rail welding using the Thermit process, followed by ultrasonic testing, while working collaboratively with Laing O’Rourke on track installation and paving.

Prior to the works taking place, our Traffic Management team collaborated with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Operations Planning, the Traffic Management Centre (TMC), Place Management NSW, City of Sydney Council, Transdev, Alstom, representatives from the ICC (International Convention & Exhibition Centre) and Emergency Services to ensure all Traffic Management Plans (TMP's) and Road Occupancy Licences (ROL's) were endorsed/approved and accepted for use.

Our traffic controllers were on the ground all weekend to implement a variety of traffic management, road occupancy, and pedestrian management measures to ensure the works could be completed within the designated tight timeframe. This involved the implementation of half-road closures, detours, intermittent traffic stoppages, as well as guiding and assisting pedestrians safely for the full duration of the works.

We’re extremely proud of the Rail and Traffic Management teams for collaboratively delivering another high-quality outcome, maintaining exceptional safety standards, and ensuring effective stakeholder management in such a complex and high-density urban environment.

A big thank you to Laing O’Rourke for their collaboration and the opportunity, and we look forward to continuing this strong partnership on future projects.

Our rail and concrete teams have been progressing at pace over recent months, delivering significant outcomes across multiple work fronts on numerous projects throughout Sydney.

Track slabs totalling close to 10,000 linear metres were poured throughout the most recent quarter, marking a substantial achievement in program deliveries.

One key milestone was the completion of a complex diamond structure within a major dive structure. This rail crossover integrates interlacing access pathways that enable efficient movement between multiple rail lines. The scissor configuration enhances spatial efficiency and safety by clearly separating incoming and outgoing rail lines and associated equipment flows.

Construction of the rail crossover involved an intricate section of rail infrastructure with a tight tolerance of ±2mm for gauge. Dedicated teams worked collaboratively and around the clock to ensure delivery on schedule and to the highest possible standard.

Additional works included two shaft pours, along with hand pours in both directions from the shafts. These shaft pours establish a launch platform for the Concrete Placing Unit (CPU) system, enabling the line to be laid and set up to allow seamless continuity of works as the system progresses through.

Further milestones were achieved with the completion of extensive hand pours along the alignment, including a single 90-linear-metre track slab pour and various runway and road pavements.

Since commencing works on these projects in this financial year, operations have expanded rapidly to multiple active work fronts, demonstrating strong coordination, capability, and commitment across the entire team. Well done to all involved.

Sunday 8th March marks International Women’s Day, and the women of Quickway have taken the opportunity to celebrate the occasion today. IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year's theme, “Give To Gain”, underscores the principle that meaningful progress on gender equality requires deliberate contributions from governments, institutions and individuals.

We’re delighted to have talented women playing an important role across our business and the wider construction industry. As a company in an industry that has traditionally been dominated by men, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our female colleagues whose invaluable contributions are felt in every area of our business – from site-based roles on projects, as project delivery staff, in business support, in management, and everywhere in between.

We’re proud to announce the award of the Cassowary Drive Bridge Replacement Project in Burleigh Waters, delivered for the City of Gold Coast.

With a contract value of c.$15m, this project represents a significant investment in renewing critical infrastructure that supports both local traffic and active transport in one of the Gold Coast’s key residential corridors.

The works involve the demolition of the existing structurally deficient bridge and construction of a new three-span bridge structure with upgraded carriageway geometry and dual shared pedestrian/cyclist pathways. The design improves safety, durability, and operational performance while maintaining alignment with the surrounding road network and minimising environmental impact.

Beyond asset renewal, the new bridge will enhance accessibility, support growing transport demand, and provide safer movement for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists — strengthening connectivity for the Burleigh Waters community.

Quickway look forward to commencing works and collaborating closely with City of Gold Coast Council and other stakeholders to deliver a high-quality outcome that will serve the region for decades to come.

** A CHRISTMAS GIFT AS TATHAM BRIDGES REOPEN TO TRAFFIC **

Great news today as the newly constructed Tatham Bridges were reopened to traffic late this afternoon.

Council has maintained that the bridges on the road corridor would be open to one lane of traffic, however as a Christmas gift, Quickway have been able to make the bridge open to dual lanes of traffic - a great benefit for the many thousands of people who use this road corridor each day.

There is no load restriction on the bridges anymore, however while the area is still a work site, some speed limits will apply - please follow all marked directions.

Quickway will be back in the new year to demolish the old bridges, and fully open this vital piece of infrastructure to the Richmond Valley.

This Christmas, the Quickway family came together with one mission: to spread joy.

Together with our directors, staff, and contractors—including Tradec, SCK Excavations, DR Civil, and Tippway Civil—we collected toys to support Westmead Children’s Hospital and Bear Cottage, a hospice providing comfort and care to families during the most difficult times.

We’re very grateful to everyone who contributed. Your generosity, compassion, and commitment to making a difference reminds us of what the holiday season is truly about.

We hope these gifts bring joy, laughter, and light to children and their families, and brighten their Christmas with love and hope.
